Bill Gates and Microsoft have committed the crime of understanding the Information Age better than anyone else.

Now the Reno Justice Department has joined forces with Gates's competitors to teach him a lesson, ignoring what his brilliant career could teach them. On May 18, the Department of Justice filed an anti-trust suit against Microsoft Corporation, charging it with anti-trust violations in promoting its Internet Explorer over rival Internet browser Netscape. Simultaneously, attorneys general from 20 states filed companion suits on almost identical grounds.

A 23-year-old woman faces charges of interfering with custody after fleeing from child protective services investigators who were trying to take the child.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that a Bunnell police officer contacted Jasmine Lee Sloan about an hour later. She agreed to surrender the child Thursday night and was taken to the Flagler County Jail, where she remained Saturday on a $10,000 bond.

The Tennessee Supreme Court cleared the way Tuesday for a Chinese couple to be reunited with the daughter they had placed in foster care with an American family nearly eight years ago.

The court overturned a decision by a Memphis judge who had taken away the parental rights of Shaoqiang and Qin Luo He, ruling that they had abandoned the child. That decision attracted widespread publicity and was criticized as ethnically biased.

It must be Wretched Wednesday -- the day after Black Tuesday. Watch out for automatic patches KB 2817630, KB 2810009, KB 2760411, KB 2760588, and KB 2760583

No sooner did Microsoft release the latest round of Black Tuesday patches, than screams of agony began sounding all over the Internet. At this point, I've seen verified problems with KB 2817630, KB 2810009, KB 2760411, KB 2760588, and KB 2760583. Here's what we know at this point. KB 2817630 is not a security patch, it's a gratuitously delivered functionality patch for Office 2013, and man has it had an impact on functionality. I've seen dozens of reports that installing this patch, possibly in conjunction with the KB 2810009 patch that is part of MS13-074, causes the folder pane in Outlook 2013 to disappear. An anonymous poster on the SANS Internet Storm Center offers this picture of the effect.

In a very strange and sad story developing out of Pennsylvania, one of Michael Bloomberg's "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" members has found himself in jail.

James Schiliro, mayor of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, was arrested this past Thursday for official oppression, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and furnishing a minor with alcohol. Schiliro ordered a local policemen to bring him a 20-year-old male to his home. At which point Schiliro allegedly served the minor alcohol and tried to have sex with him. When the minor refused, Schiliro apparently retrieved multiple handguns, where he then proceeded to fire one of them in the minors direction as a form of intimidation.

The person who may be responsible for more food-related illness and death than anyone in history has been made the US food safety czar. This is no joke.

Michael Taylor, MONSANTO’S VICE PRESIDENT, was just appointed senior advisor to the commissioner of the FDA. This is the same man that was in charge of FDA policy when GMO’s were allowed into the US food supply without undergoing a single test to determine their safety. He “had been Monsanto’s attorney before becoming policy chief at the FDA [and then] he became Monsanto’s Vice President and chief lobbyist. This month [he] became the senior advisor to the commissioner of the FDA. He is now America’s food safety czar. This is no joke.”

In order to understand the "equation", you have to have knowledge of what each of the components stand for. As this develops, I believe you will see how it relates to the reduction and diminishing of the sovereignty of the United States of America.

In March, 2005, the President of the United States, the President of Mexico and the Prime Minister of Canada met in Texas for the creation of the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP)." This new agreement was never submitted to the Congress for debate, discussion and/or decision.

A Spokane police officer has pleaded guilty to a charge that he lied to federal agents about the fatal beating of a mentally disabled man.

KXLY-TV reports that Officer Tim Moses was given a yearlong suspended sentence Tuesday for making a false statement and that he's losing his job on the force. His statements concerned the case of Otto Zehm, who was beaten to death by police who suspected him of stealing money from a convenience store ATM.

I'm going to take a look through the first page of Google to see just how safe pages ranking for "Free WordPress Themes" are.

8 out of 10 sites (the first results from a Google search) included base64 encoding in their themes. The average WordPress user no doubt knows that Google isn't the best place to find themes but the stats on these sites show that there are thousands of people downloading them and using them on their websites. Someone who has come to WordPress on the first time is more than likely to type "free WordPress themes" into Google to find a site that gives them what they want. Unfortunately they're more than likely to end up with spammy links, at best, on their site.
