Symptoms of poor magnesium intake can include muscle cramps, facial tics, poor sleep, and chronic pain. It pays to ensure that you get adequate magnesium before signs of deficiency occur. But how can you know whether you're getting enough?

According to population studies of average magnesium intake, there's a good chance that you're not. Less than 30% of U.S. adults consume the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of magnesium. And nearly 20% get only half of the magnesium they need daily to remain healthy. One method of assessing your magnesium status is to simply contact your health care provider and request detailed magnesium testing. Yet magnesium assessment is typically done using blood serum testing, and these tests can be misleading.

Eggs have a bad reputation, but the newest scientific research finds no connection between eggs and high cholesterol or heart disease. In fact, eggs may just be the perfect food.

Many Americans were raised on the theory that eggs were loaded with artery-clogging cholesterol, and that eating them was a surefire way to promote coronary heart disease. That couldn't be further from the truth, though. When Wake Forest University researchers reviewed some of the top scientific studies, they found no link between eating eggs and heart disease.

The next time you find yourself in the honey aisle of your favorite grocery store, thinking about which honey to buy; the pricey, premium, artisanal honey or the store-brand nectar contained in a plastic bear...

Pollen is the only sure-fire way to trace a honey straight to its source and ultra-filtering honey can mask its shady origins. Most likely, it's been imported from China, where honey is cheap and heavily subsidized. However, Chinese honey is also subject to heavy import tariffs on account of its propensity for being contaminated by illegal antibiotics and heavy metals. Thus, Chinese manufacturers will ultrafilter their honey, then sneak their products into a US territory where it will then get slapped with a "Made in the USA" sticker and onto our shelves.

The Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) is on its way to approve a licence application from PaxVax Australia (PaxVax) for the intentional release of a GMO vaccine consisting of live bacteria into the environment in Queensland, South Australia.

According to the regulator, it qualifies as a limited and controlled release under section 50A of the Gene Technology Act 2000 (the Act). PaxVax is seeking approval to conduct the clinical trial of a genetically modified live bacterial vaccine against cholera. Once underway the trial is expected to be completed within one year, with trial sites selected from local government areas (LGAs) in Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia. PaxVax has proposed a number of control measures they say will restrict the spread and persistence of the GM vaccine and its introduced genetic material, however there is always a possiblity of these restrictions failing and infecting wildlife and ecosystems.

I've never been one to really assert myself into the middle of other people's business. I believe we should all have the right to choose what we do with our own bodies and how we bring up our kids (within reason, of course).

I love my kids and at the core of every issue, that love is the driving factor for most every decision I make . When you boldly and critically assert that I don't responsibly love my kids and you further your baseless conjecture by saying my anti-vaccination stance poses a threat to your kids and our society at large, you engage my inner, protective mother demon (yes, it is there, but only when it has to be).
