Do you demand answers as to why certain people want to stamp a label on a poison product, but not demand the poisoning of our children and planet be stopped?! We demand those answers.

Do YOU want a clean and toxic-free planet? Do you want clean food, clean water and clean air? I began my studies, research and quest for truth, honesty and a cure for our son's "incurable" disease, Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis. (Our son, Coty encountered 28 surgeries and 2 near death experiences with 7 different surgeons with this deadly disease). I began this quest 22 years ago, but with no avail or light at the end of the tunnel. Back then, I had only known to rely on the doctors of the western medicine to treat and keep our son alive.

Your immune system attacks anything in your body that it recognizes as foreign-such as an invading microbe, plant pollen, or chemical. The process is called inflammation.

Many people suffer from chronic inflammation due to the modern diet and lifestyle. Processed food, sugar, hydrogenated and trans fats, stress, malnutrition, obesity, pollution, heavy metals and excessive exercise cause this condition, because they cause overactivity in the immune system, that can lead to joint pain, fatigue, and damage to the blood vessels. (Editor Note: GMO's are the cause of most of these ailments we morals suffer from.)

California farmers must restrict their use of a tear gas-like pesticide applied to strawberries and other crops under new rules designed to protect farmworkers and people who live, work and go to school near agricultural fields.

Chloropicrin is "an irritant with characteristics of a tear gas" that was manufactured as a chemical warfare agent during World War I, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Strawberry growers have applied chloropicrin for decades, but its use has increased in recent years as an alternative to methyl bromide, which is being phased out under an international treaty.

The Great Famine of Ireland, in which mass potato crop failures resulted in more than 1 million men, women, and children dying of starvation, is now recognized by some as one of the first historical examples of the dangers of monoculture.

In his book The Famine Plot, Irish historian Tim Pat Coogan brings to light how the British monarchy essentially drove the Irish people of that time to their grim fate by engineering the food shortage that would eventually capture more than one in eight Irish lives. Based on the definitions outlined by the United Nations as to what genocide actually is, the way the Irish were treated by the Royal Crown during the mid-19th century serves as a clear example of genocide through food.

Fast-food chains have a New Year's resolution: Drop the junk. As people express distaste for food they think is overly processed, McDonald's, Taco Bell and other chains are trying to shed their reputation for serving reheated meals.

Recasting fast-food as "fresh" and "real" will be tricky, in large part because it's so universally regarded as cheap and greasy. Another problem is that terms like "fresh," "real" and "healthy" have nebulous meanings, making it hard for companies to pin down how to approach transformation.

San Francisco-based iGem group said it found a way to make cheese proteins using genetic sequences found in mammals.

The DNA blueprints are inserted into the yeast, which creates cheese that is vegan-compatible because of the lack of animal products. Some of the DNA strands are from humans, because the developers hope milk proteins made from our own species will mean less chance of allergic reactions.

After years of inaction by the USDA, Cornucopia contracted for aerial photography in nine states, from West Texas to New York and Maryland, over the past eight months.

What they found confirmed earlier site visits: a systemic pattern of corporate agribusiness interests operating industrial-scale confinement livestock facilities providing no legitimate grazing, or even access to the outdoors, as required by federal organic regulations.

More than 700 chefs - including Tom Colicchio, José Andrés, Art Smith and Sam Talbot - are urging members of Congress to support legislation to mandate labeling of genetically modified foods and to oppose efforts to block state GMO labeling laws.

"This is about transparency in the marketplace and preventing consumer deception," agreed Colin O'Neil, director of government affairs at the Center for Food Safety. "Consumers can only make informed decisions when they are given the information to do so. We require labels on everything from juice from concentrate to foods that have been irradiated; why should genetic engineering be any different?"

One alarming aspect of the whole GMO debate is the fact that so many Americans are going about their daily lives completely unaware that they are consuming genetically modified organisms at just about every meal.

So what are GMOs and why should we be concerned about them? GMOs are unhealthy: Since the introduction of GMOs in the mid-1990s, the number of food allergies has sky-rocketed, and health issues such as autism, digestive problems and reproductive disorders are on the rise. Animal testing with GMOs has resulted in cases of organ failure, digestive disorders, infertility and accelerated aging. Despite an announcement in 2012 by the American Medical Association stating they saw no reason for labeling genetically modified foods, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine has urged doctors to prescribe non-GMO diets for their patients.
