13-year old Michelle Cedillo is at the center of a court case pitting thousands of families of children with autism against the medical establishment.

While a number of prestigious medical institutions say there is no link between vaccines and autism, the families believe vaccines caused their children's autism, and have taken their case to court.

After years of insisting there is no evidence to link vaccines with the onset of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the US government has quietly conceded a vaccine-autism case in the Court of Federal Claims.

The claim, one of 4,900 autism cases currently pending in Federal "Vaccine Court," was conceded by US Assistant Attorney General Peter Keisler and other Justice Department officials, on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services, the "defendant" in all Vaccine Court cases.

Current statistics support my previous warnings about this "pandemic outbreak" that never materialized, as predicted.

Last year, the number of human cases of avian flu dropped rather than rose for the first time -- from a paltry 115 in 2006 to an even more insignificant 86 in 2007.

A U.S. Coast Guard officer and devout Catholic has filed suit to prevent being forced to receive a vaccination derived from the lung of an aborted child after a higher ranking officer disputed his understanding of Church theology.

The Alliance Defense Fund filed a complaint last week in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of Lt. Cmdr. Joseph Healy, charging the government with using its own arbitrary judgment of what constitutes Catholic theology while permitting religious exemptions to others, effectively discriminating against Healy's sincerely held religious beliefs.

A NewsTarget investigation has revealed that the FDA knew as early as 2003 that Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) was not linked to cervical cancer.

Despite this knowledge, the FDA, along with key pharmaceutical companies, has continued to push for the use of HPV vaccinations as a defense against cervical cancer, even when its own research showed no link exists. Gardasil vaccine has been linked to a 44.6% increase in precancerous lesions in some women, raising serious doubts over the sensibility of mandatory vaccination policies.

All children entering public and private schools in Alaska beginning in July 2009 will be required to have a chickenpox immunization.

The state Board of Education voted on the new regulation last week at its meeting in Anchorage. The state Department of Health and Social Services proposed adding the chickenpox vaccine to the already required immunizations for schoolchildren.

The Public Health Council in New Jersey has voted to require all children attending preschool or daycare to be injected with not just one vaccine, but four different vaccines.

If this rule goes into effect New Jersey would be the first U.S. state to make the vaccination of children required by law. This means that those parents who refuse to participate in such vaccination programs would be labeled "criminals" and arrested at gunpoint.

Another vaccine recall, this time in Canada, has been issued by a subsidiary of Merck. Earlier this week, Merck issued a recall for more than 1 million doses of Hib vaccine in the US.

But unlike the US action, the Canadian recall of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR-II) involves serious injuries to several people. Canada suspended use of three batches of a MMR=II Wednesday after five people fell ill in the midst of a vaccination campaign in Alberta.

Pediatricians rushed Thursday to stock up on a crucial baby shot a day after one of the nation's top vaccine manufacturers announced it was recalling 1.2 million doses and suspending production indefinitely.

Meanwhile, worried parents were calling doctors' offices to ask whether their children are safe if they recently got the Hib vaccine, which protects against meningitis, pneumonia and other life-threatening and disabling bacterial diseases.
