We have some real problems and they are only going to get worse. We have a right to know what we are eating. People are getting allergies, this isn't normal folks. If we don't pay attention to what's happening, in our food supply, to our farmers, the plants, and ultimately our grocery store we are going to wake up one day and realize we trusted the health of our children and the health of our families to the government. And the government let us down.

Your allergies are driving you crazy, but you really don't like to take conventional medications. Or maybe you've tried over-the-counter allergy meds-or even prescription ones-but you're not getting the relief you need. What else might work?

You might be tempted to pack up the humidifier, but hold off, recommends John Salerno, DO, a family practitioner at Patients Medical holistic wellness center in New York City. "When it's still a little cool at night and indoor humidity is low, using a cool-mist humidifier can help get allergens out of the air," he explains. "Water droplets bind to the allergens, and they get heavy and fall to the floor so you don't inhale them." Getty

Cancer treatments have become increasingly effective in recent years, but these advances obscure the fact that cancer is often preventable.

Many wealthy nations are moving in the wrong direction - obesity rates are surging, people are less active and tobacco use, particularly among women, remains high.

Pesticides are designed to kill, although the mode of action they use to put the stranglehold on pests varies. Whether it's nerve gas-like neurological disruption, the unbalancing of key hormones, or the stunting of a plant's ability to absorb ...

Pesticides are also blamed for diminishing mineral levels in foods. Agrochemical supporters tend to fall back on a "the dose makes the poison" theory, assuming that small exposures aren't harmful. Increasingly, though, independent scientists are debunking that belief, even proving that incredibly tiny doses could set a person up for health problems later in life. Luckily, eating organic, less processed foods can cut back on your pesticide exposure.

When I was 14 years old, my grandfather died of Alzheimer's disease. I remember the years leading up to his death and how quickly his mind wore away.

Alzheimer's and dementia are some of the scariest and most emotionally-triggering degenerative diseases. But they are easier to prevent than previously thought. If you have a family history of one of these diseases or are worried about what they may do to you as you age, one of the first things you can do is modify your diet.

Over 300 tons of radioactive water are still leaking into the sea each day. And if that wasn't enough, reactor 4 is severely damaged and sinking-the removal of the spent fuel rods will be one of the most urgent and dangerous tasks ever undertaken.

Many experts are urging people to stop eating sea life from the Pacific. This would obviously include anything from Japan. Marine chemist Ken Buesseler found Pacific cesium levels 50 million times higher than pre disaster levels. (The levels tapered off but plateaued at 10,000 times higher than normal.) The algae get contaminated and it goes to the little fish, to the big fish and then to you.

Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, has claimed the 10th victim in California, in what health officials are calling the worst outbreak in 60 years.

Since the beginning of the year, 5,978 confirmed, probable and suspected cases of the disease have been reported in California. All of the deaths occurred in infants under the age of 3 months, says Michael Sicilia, a spokesman for the California Department of Public Health. Nine were younger than 8 weeks old, which means they were too young to have been vaccinated against this highly contagious bacterial disease.

Nails are often regarded as a purely aesthetic feature, and the $768 million spent annually on nail polish (in the U.S. alone) can attest to that.1 Yet, your nails are far more than a platform for bright colors and nail art.

The shape, texture, and color of your natural nails act as a window into your body, and while some nail symptoms are harmless, others can be indicative of chronic diseases, including cancer. As noted by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD): "Nails often reflect our general state of health. Changes in the nail, such as discoloration or thickening, can signal health problems including liver and kidney diseases, heart and lung conditions, anemia, and diabetes."

The best strategy to achieve optimal health is to avoid visiting and asking doctors for drug solutions that only treat the symptoms.

I've long said that the best strategy for achieving health is avoiding a visit to your doctor in the first place. Why? Because in many cases you will simply leave the office with a prescription or two, which will rarely solve your health problem. Most doctor visits result in "solutions" that only suppress your symptoms, often causing other side effects and problems. Rather than advise patients about the true underlying conditions and real solutions that lead to health, they are left putting toxic Band-Aids on gaping wounds.
