Medical Health News

We have some real problems and they are only going to get worse. We have a right to know what we are eating. People are getting allergies, this isn't normal folks. If we don't pay attention to what's happening, in our food supply, to our farmers, the plants, and ultimately our grocery store we are going to wake up one day and realize we trusted the health of our children and the health of our families to the government. And the government let us down.

I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labelled "opinion makers." Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted elevated blood cholesterol.

Despite the fact that 25% of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before. Statistics from the American Heart Association show that 75 million Americans currently suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 57 million have pre-diabetes. These disorders are affecting younger and younger people in greater numbers every year. Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended. It is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped.

We physicians with all our training, knowledge and authority often acquire a rather large ego that tends to make it difficult to admit we are wrong. So, here it is. I freely admit to being wrong...

As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience, having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries, today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact. I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labelled "opinion makers." Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol.

Barack Obama has done the United States a great, though unforeseen, favor.

He has brought to light, as no one else could, many of the pernicious assumptions of our culture from the last half-century. He turned theory and "what ifs" into fact for all America to see, experience, and, yes, suffer through. The Years of Wandering...

A shipyard worker who set fire to rags aboard a nuclear submarine because he wanted to go home was sentenced to a little more than 17 years in federal prison Friday for the blaze that transformed the vessel into a fiery furnace.

The fire injured seven people and caused about $450 million in damage. Casey James Fury also was ordered to pay $400 million in restitution by a judge who weighed his lack of criminal record and the severity of the fire before imposing a 205-month prison sentence.

A medical assistant told a jury Tuesday that she snipped the spines of at least 10 babies during unorthodox abortions at a West Philadelphia clinic, at the direction of the clinic's owner.

And she said Dr. Kermit Gosnell and another employee did the same to terminate pregnancies. Adrienne Moton's testimony came in the capital murder trial of Gosnell, who owned the clinic and is on trial in the deaths of a patient and seven babies. Prosecutors accuse him of killing late-term, viable babies after they were delivered alive, in violation of state abortion laws.

What does the Women's Suffrage Movement have to do with Mandatory Vaccination?

In 1850, Susan B Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton formed a partnership. They lead the movement to overcome the legal barriers that prohibited women from having voting equality. By 1906, both women had passed on. Fifty years of effort had won women the ballot in just four states: Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and Idaho. With the passing of the Movement's Leaders, the suffrage establishment did not die, but it had aged and had grown weary. It was said, "The Suffrage Movement bored its adherents and repelled its opponents." Then, in 1913, the fight for women's rights was refueled by a potent combination of education, frustration, anger and courage. They had one goal: a constitutional amendment allowing women the right to vote...

Women in fields ranging from law to medicine denounced the Obama administration's contraception mandate, arguing that it violates religious freedom and promotes a culture that degrades women.

"This whole idea of contraception, sterilization and abortifacients as being necessary for a woman's health is actually demeaning to women," said Gloria Purvis, a policy director at a major financial services company and board member for the Northwest Pregnancy Center and Maternity Home. She explained that this idea is based on the belief "that women, because of our fertility, are deficient, and we need fixing," and warned that the mandate "further presses this false perception into the American psyche."

It seems fitting that a plant called Mary Jane could smash the patriarchy. After all, only female marijuana flowers produce cannabinoids like the potent THC chemical that gets users buzzed.

Pot farmers strive to keep all their crops female through flowering female clones of one plant, called the Mother. And women are moving into the pot business so quickly that they could make it the first billion-dollar industry that isn't dominated by men.
