We have some real problems and they are only going to get worse. We have a right to know what we are eating. People are getting allergies, this isn't normal folks. If we don't pay attention to what's happening, in our food supply, to our farmers, the plants, and ultimately our grocery store we are going to wake up one day and realize we trusted the health of our children and the health of our families to the government. And the government let us down.

Are you still smearing Vicks all over the kids when they have a cough or cold? This lovely winter weather is bringing on the cold and cough season with a vengeance this year but you might think twice before reaching for the familiar green Vicks jar.

Vicks Vapo Rub is said to cause breathing problems in babies. Vicks Vapor Rub contains ingredients that "can be irritants, causing the body to produce more mucus to protect the airway," according to a doctor who has been doing studies on the product. In a study released by the Wake Forest University of Medicine (in North Carolina), pediatricians warn that the ingredients of Vicks Vapo Rub could turn out to be harmful for young children and babies. The reason for this is that it can cause severe respiratory distress when applied.

The mainstream media, at the behest of the misguided medical establishment, villainizes salt. Society is constantly told that salt can raise the blood pressure, cause cardiac failure, damage the kidneys, aggravate asthma, and cause kidney stones.

Unrefined and unadulterated sea salt is not harmful in moderate amounts. Its benefits over table salt contrasts the immense differences between God's engineering and man's. The human body requires a certain amount of sodium for optimum health, and we could not live without it. Healthy sea salts selectively make a body a hostile environment for pathogens, such as bacteria and parasites. Its specific toxicity to pathogenic life forms is why salt is such an excellent preservative, while leaving the healthy foods completely intact. Even mainstream medical doctors will admit these things when probed, but their institutionalized attacks upon salt continue unabated.

It has been a common household name in over-the-counter pain relief for more than 50 years, but the popular painkiller drug Tylenol is getting a major labeling makeover following a string of personal injury lawsuits.

Even when taken at recommended doses, acetaminophen, the primary active ingredient in Tylenol, can cause major damage to the liver, potentially leading to liver failure and even death. In fact, acetaminophen is currently the leading cause of sudden liver failure in the U.S., as its toxic metabolites have been shown to kill liver cells. The drug is so toxic that as many as 80,000 people are rushed to the emergency room annually due to acetaminophen poisoning, and another 500-or-so end up dead from liver failure.

TWIN FALLS -- Kelsey Osborne waved a sign outside the Twin Falls County Courthouse: "Illegal does not equal injury."

She was joined by 10 others including Serra Frank, founding director of Moms for Marijuana International, who held a sign that said, "Parents beware CPS is corrupted. Rhett Earhart lies calmly as chiropractor Cecelia Mikles runs her hands down his spine. When Mikles reaches the bottom of his spine, she notices a little curve to the left. She extends Rhett's legs so they're straight and checks their length.

Rhett, who is 13 months old, is just learning to walk. But he's been a patient of Mikles since he was just 6 days old. "I just want him to be healthy," Dearey said. The Vancouver mom isn't alone in that desire, nor is she alone in seeking infant chiropractic care. A 2007 study estimates there are 30 million pediatric chiropractic visits each year.

If you have chronic pain in your neck or back, you know how miserable it feels day-to-day. Perhaps your options have whittled down to pain killers, anti-inflammatories, physical therapy or surgery.

There is no cracking or aggressive movement involved in NSA. Lewis and business partner Amy Gunderson focus on gentle, precise touch to your spine and the connective tissues around it. "I honestly was at a point where I was willing to try anything," said Madeline Kiefer, who calls NSA a lifesaver.

For people who take an antihistamine such as Benadryl for a cold or allergies, drowsiness is often a welcome side effect. But a Baylor College of Medicine sleep expert cautions against turning to this type of medication as a sleep aid.

"Many allergy sufferers know that antihistamines work for their symptoms but also make them sleepy. People sometimes turn to these medications to help them sleep, even when they're not sick. But the use of medication to force children or adults to sleep is generally not the best idea," said Dr. Philip Alapat, assistant professor of medicine.

Folic acid, found in multis, prenatals and fortified foods, is synthetic and responsible for many health woes especially those with the MTHFR gene mutation.

That nutrient was folate. Folate, vitamin B9, is a water soluble vitamin used in just about every process in the body. It breaks down, builds, and uses proteins. It's used in red blood cell production, DNA synthesis, and many more functions. Lack of it in pregnancy leads to neural tube defects including spina bifida and anencephaly. Lack of it in childhood and adulthood leads to growth problems, neurological problems, anemia, low white blood cell count, and more.
