"If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter."
                                             -- George Washington

"If we stuck to the Constitution as written, we would have: no federal meddling in our schools; no Federal Reserve; no U.S. membership in the UN; no gun control; and no foreign aid.

We would have no welfare for big corporations, or the "poor"; no American troops in 100 foreign countries; no NAFTA, GATT, or "fast-track"; no arrogant federal judges usurping states rights; no attacks on private property; no income tax. We could get rid of most of the cabinet departments, most of the agencies, and most of the budget."

Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom by Dr. Ron Paul

"Freedom is not defined by safety. Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place. Only a totalitarian society would even claim absolute safety as a worthy ideal, because it would require total state control over its citizens' lives. Liberty has meaning only if we still believe in it when terrible things happen and a false government security blanket beckons."
                                             -- Congressman Ron Paul

Under the cover of darkness, just hours after Hillary Clinton was handed a get-out-of-jail-free card by the FBI for committing felony crimes, the Senate quietly voted 63-30 to preempt state law in direct violation of the Tenth Amendment.

Senator Jeff Merkley wasn't afraid to call a spade a spade in the aftermath of the treasonous vote, which was further buried in the news cycle by Obama's latest attempt at race-baiting in order to abolish the Second Amendment. Merkley told the media that the so-called Roberts-Stabenow Bill, also known as the Monsanto DARK Act 2.0, is a farce, and will do nothing to protect consumers who want to know what they're eating.

The Supreme Court ruling in Utah v Strieff awarded the police total freedom to stop any citizen, at any time, to do whatever they desire.

The Supreme Court determined that the "poisonous fruit" of a police officer's stop of a citizen can be used against them at trial. This has wiped out, in reality, any constitutional protection you thought you had. This is a sad day for the United States, for the Supreme Court has officially created a full-blown police state and clearly has no intention of honoring why this nation began the entire American Revolution - to prevent illegal searches that allowed the king to look for anything he could use to prosecute citizens.

On Wednesday, in the dead of night, as House Democrats held a sit-in for gun safety, House Republicans stripped language that would make it easier for qualified veterans to access state-legal medical marijuana.

With no transparency and little opportunity for Members to review, the House passed the legislation shortly after 3 a.m. local time Thursday. The Senate will vote on the legislation next. Currently, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) specifically prohibits its medical providers from completing forms allowing a qualified veteran to participate in a state medical marijuana program.

While most of the nation was looking the other way, California signed into law Senate Bill 277 (SB277). What was once thought to be a ´╗┐modern-day impossibility´╗┐ - mandatory vaccination - will now becoming a reality on July 1 in California.

Those California parents previously unaware of the new California law are now being forced into large learning curves at the moment. Like students feverishly cramming for an exam, research about vaccine injury compensation, informed consent, the CDC whistleblower and vaccine inserts fill the days of unaware individuals attempting to bridge the information gap. Most will reach the eventual conclusion - one way or another - that the plan was never to stop at mandatory vaccination for school children in California.

Proponents of Senate Bill 1146 say they need to give students grounds to sue religious schools for teaching their religion, because 'discrimination.'

People used to expect that attending something sponsored by religious organization required abiding by mores and behavior that religious body professes. There was a simple option for avoiding the ideas or practices of a belief system you don't agree with: don't frequent their space. This courteous expectation naturally applied to all religions and expressions of faith. California is now attempting to end this system of free association that allows people to define their local and religious cultures. California Senate Bill 1146 (SB 1146), which is slated for a vote Tuesday, seeks to limit the religious exemptions from federal Title IX regulations that colleges and universities use for hiring instructors, teaching classes, and conducting student services in line with their faith. Under SB 1146, a college would be eligible for an exemption only for training pastors or theology teachers .

If you want to be sure your pediatrician has your child's best interest, this is mandatory reading. Pediatricians around the country have begun refusing to accept families who opt out of some or all vaccines.

So how much money do doctors really make from vaccines? The average American pediatrician has 1546 patients, though some pediatricians see many more. The vast majority of those patients are very young, perhaps because children transition to a family physician or stop visiting the doctor at all as they grow up. As they table above explains, Blue Cross Blue Shield pays pediatricians $400 per fully vaccinated child. If your pediatrician has just 100 fully-vaccinated patients turning 2 this year, that's $40,000.

Relentless crackdown on journalists and media outlets in Turkey is not news. But the censorship has taken a whole new level last week when a Turkish court stripped a prominent journalist of legal rights over her two children for publishing a video.

Arzu Yildiz, an unwavering journalist mostly reporting about court battles and a fierce critic of the government, was also given a 20-month prison sentence for publishing the video on YouTube last year. The video is a two-hour long court defense of a prosecutor who intercepted a truck in southern Turkey full of arms heading toward a Syrian territory held by Ahrar al-Sham, an Islamist extremist group.

If you drove by the Allen County Courthouse this afternoon you may have noticed protesters carrying signs. The group is concerned about family courts in Ohio, contending they tear families apart for profit.

Owen contends the courts don't make a profit if they bring two parents together. He says they only make a profit if they can separate. He claims the more children they get in foster care or the family court system... title 4-D of the Social Security system kicks in and they get more than 70% of that total case...not just child support but special programs like parenting classes and anger management and all of the other classes that these courts offer these parents he says the state's making a profit off of it and these parents are required to pay it.
