If you ask if these can hear conversation they've said no. Now we know better. The question is are they always on.

It's true. They are admittedly like red light cameras. Capt Joyner told me directly. Why doesn't the reporter follow up? The mics she is talking about on this segment are less than 30ft from people's front yard. Where is the privacy policy? Where is the search warrant?

Based on a 2009 article that appeared in the Washington Post and a March 2013 report by CNN, Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) - who authored a resolution calling for the Sergeant at Arms to arrest Lois Lerner for contempt of Congress - should perhaps point to a much more significant crime in response to any concerns that Lerner could become a sympathetic figure if she were arrested. That crime involves Lerner's alleged illegal backdating of a tax exempt approval letter for an organization whose founder does business with a State Sponsor of Terrorism, business the Post says is illegal.

TrueVoteMD, an election integrity group opposing the state's electronic touch-screen voting machines, is fighting the state's decision to not grant poll-watching credentials to group members for the Nov. 2 election.

"Electronic voting machines are vulnerable to human error and tampering," said Linda Schade, co-founder of the Tacoma Park, Md.-based group of approximately 3,000 members. "We're hoping to educate voters and document the problems that people have."

Yesterday I let loose with a terrifically violent sneeze while sitting at my desk. It was so violent that I felt a large twinge of pain in my shoulder.

After a 2-hour Chiropractic session I felt a little better but I really have temporarily lost the use of my right arm. So, I thought I would try to use the voice recognition in Windows 7 Beta.

It seems like every day this president is looking to grab more power for himself. This time he's attempting to take on the power to take over all communications in the country in the case of an emergency.

Now, one assumes that by "emergency" Obama means "threats to his power," but there you have it. According to Marilyn Daly of Examiner.com, Obama signed an executive order expecting to give the Department of Homeland Security the power to shut everything down just when you'd think that we as citizens would need information the most; during a crisis. The EO is titled the Assignment of National Security Emergency Preparedness Communications Function.

The NY newspaper that made itself infamous for publishing an interactive map revealing the names and addresses of thousands of New York's law abiding gun owners has now disabled the feature that allows readers to see those names and addresses.

The Westchester-area Journal News caused outrage among New York's legal gun owners with its anti-gun stunt as the story surged across the country. Citing public safety issues, as late as last Tuesday a group of 50 current and former law enforcement officials gathered to demand that the newspaper remove the names from public view. As soon as the map became an issue, legislators began efforts to change the state's laws to make it illegal to out gun owner's names. Even though such a law has yet to be put in place, the Journal News has decided to remove the names and addresses on its own citing the "spirit" of the laws under consideration, as well as a provision in the state's latest anti-gun law that passed earlier this week.

The paper the Guardian has become Britain's newest champion for a minority of sorts. In a January 3 article, the UK paper has taken up the cause of pedophiles who claim they are just "ordinary members of society" that only need a little understanding.

The paper seriously presented pedophiles as but a misunderstood minority that do no real harm. As Telegraph writer Damian Thompson points out, "this is not some sick send-up" on his part. The UK Guardian is wholly serious. Guardian feature columnist Jon Henley uncritically quotes convicted pedophiles like Tom O'Carroll, who said that children enter into such "relationships" voluntarily. "If there's no bullying, no coercion, no abuse of power, if the child enters into the relationship voluntarily ... the evidence shows there need be no harm."

Fox News recently reported that ex-crooks are denouncing the New York paper that published the names and addresses of thousands of the state's gun owners, saying that publishing the information was nothing less than a road map for criminal planning.

In late December, the Journal News, a small paper in suburban Westchester, New York, published an interactive map featuring the names and addresses of the gun owners in Rockland County. This information, the ex-burglars say, presents criminals with a ready list of easy targets. "That was the most asinine article I've ever seen," said Walter T. Shaw, 65, a former burglar and jewel thief who the FBI blames for more than 3,000 break-ins that netted some $70 million in the 1960s and 1970s. "Having a list of who has a gun is like gold - why rob that house when you can hit the one next door, where there are no guns?"

The Journal News is at the center of controversy yet again. Now a hacker group has broken into the newspaper's database and is disseminating the names, addresses, and passwords of thousands of the Journal News' customers.

In December, the Westchester, New York area paper released the names and addresses of thousands of New York's legal gun owners, then threatened to publish even more in the near future. After the local New York paper published the names and addresses of gun owners in Rockland County in an online interactive map, bloggers responded by posting the names and addresses of the employees of the Journal News. The paper then hypocritically hired armed guards to patrol its offices over what it claimed were "threatening" emails it had received.
