What message are our legislators sending to voters, when they publicly admit they haven't done their job? How many bills are passed each year that policymakers haven't even bothered to read? This is disgraceful. This is called dereliction of duties and we must demand a stop to this practice.

Whether you eat them or not, do you know what the risks are from eating GMOs?

If you don't know whether or not you're eating genetically modified organisms , you're not alone-at least in the U.S. Despite the many petitions and appeals for state or federal regulations on labeling foods that contain GMOs, none have passed. And that means companies still don't have to disclose whether or not a product includes genetically modified organisms. What's the big deal, you ask?

When Cyprus banks imploded, Americans, shrugged "where the Hell is Cyprus and what does it have to do with me?" Well, those who still don't know the answer may soon find out the very hard way why the Cyprus disaster may be spreading.

Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and a member state of the European Union. Prior to joining, Cyprus had a thriving economy and its banks were considered offshore safe-havens for wealthy Russians, KGB "black money" and other European investors who wanted to protect their assets from overzealous governments.

A new analysis shows Arizona's overhauled child-welfare agency still needs major changes if it is to deal with rising caseloads, a growing number of children in out-of-home care and mistrust among community partners and the children it helps.

The report by the University of Chicago's Chapin Hall Center for Children released Tuesday contains a host of recommendations. The study was required by a 2014 law that created the new Department of Child Safety as a stand-alone agency.

Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the West, including the United States, for eschewing Christian values and opting instead for a "path to degradation."

In his State of the Nation speech last month, Putin asserted that, "Many Euro-Atlantic countries have moved away from their roots, including Christian values... Policies are being pursued that place on the same level a multi-child family and a same-sex partnership, a faith in God and a belief in Satan." Russia has adopted new laws that ban homosexual propaganda and criminalizes the insulting of religious sensibilities.

This story is yet another piece of evidence piling onto the mountain of support for cannabis oil and full marijuana legalization.

At 10 months of age, Kalel Santiago of Puerto Rico was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma. He endured chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and surgery for two years - and survived. Then he was diagnosed with something permanent: severe autism that disabled him from speaking.

In Live Free or Die, a 2010 memoir recounting how cannabis oil saved her life, Shona Banda emphasizes the importance of "self-taught knowledge," acquired by constantly asking questions and "looking at all of the angles of any information given."

Her son may have learned that lesson too well. Had he been less inquisitive, less prone to question authority, he might still be living with his mother, and she might not be facing criminal charges that could send her to prison for decades. Banda, a 38-year-old massage therapist who appeared in criminal court for the first time last week, is free on a $50,000 bond while her case is pending.

The Senate struggled to prevent an interruption in critical government surveillance programs early Saturday, rejecting both a House-passed bill and a short-term extension of the USA Patriot Act.

The White House has pressured the Senate to back the House bill, which would end the National Security Agency's bulk collection of domestic phone records. Instead, the records would remain with telephone companies subject to a case-by-case review. The vote was 57-42, short of the 60-vote threshold to move ahead.
