Launching a lawsuit against the very company that is responsible for a farmer suicide every 30 minutes, 5 million farmers are now suing Monsanto for as much as 6.2 billion euros (around 7.7 billion US dollars).

The reason? As with many other cases, such as the ones that led certain farming regions to be known as the 'suicide belt', Monsanto has been reportedly taxing the farmers to financial shambles with ridiculous royalty charges. The farmers state that Monsanto has been unfairly gathering exorbitant profits each year on a global scale from "renewal" seed harvests, which are crops planted using seed from the previous year's harvest.

It's not like these people can just go out and lie right to our faces, right? They sure can!

If you tell people that advertisers lie, they'll roll their eyes and say, "DUH! That's what advertising is, you naive buffoon!" But then those same people will walk out the door and buy a phone based on a "coverage map" they just saw in an ad. That's because advertisers use our cool cynicism against us -- we think we're being savvy by assuming that all ads exaggerate, but we still assume that's as far as it can go -- exaggeration. It's not like these people can just go out and lie right to our faces, right? They sure can! In fact ...

1. "All dogs must have yearly vaccinations"

Nope! Not only are standard yearly vaccinations unnecessary, but in many cases they are actually dangerous. Veterinarians who are giving out vaccinations like Willy Wonka passing out candy in the chocolate factory need a wake-up call.

GM crops are claimed by proponents to reduce pesticide use (the term "pesticide" includes herbicides, which technically are pesticides). But this is untrue.

Herbicide-tolerant crops have been developed by agrochemical firms specifically to depend upon agrochemicals and have extended the market for these chemicals. Far from weaning agriculture away from environmentally damaging chemicals, GM technology has prolonged and extended the chemically-based agricultural model. The adoption of GM Roundup Ready crops, especially soy, has caused massive increases in the use of glyphosate worldwide.

There is no scientific study to determine whether vaccines have really prevented diseases.

Rather disease graphs show vaccines have been introduced at the end of epidemics when the disease was already in its last stages. In case of Small Pox the vaccine actually caused a great spurt in the incidence of disease before public outcry led to its withdrawal. There are no long-term studies on vaccine safety. Very short-term tests are carried out where the vaccinated subjects are checked against another group who are given another vaccine. Technically the tests should be carried out against a non-vaccinated group. No one really knows what protocols are followed at such industry based or industry sponsored trials.

You'd have to be living under a rock not to notice that adrenal problems are at epidemic proportions in our modern culture.

The fact that a Starbucks or some other coffee shop is on practically every corner and that the average American now consumes a whopping 180 lbs per year of refined sugars is surely evidence enough. By the way, the 180 lbs of sugar per year figure is a shocking 27% increase just since 2003 when sugar consumption was 142 lbs per person per year! Caffeine and sugar consumed in excess amounts will sucker punch your adrenal glands faster than just about anything else, no doubt about it.

These unique veggies will add a nice bit of excitement to your garden and your meals.

This doesn't mean that tomatoes and carrots aren't great veggies; it's just that they aren't the most unique choices available. While you're out shopping for your usual garden additions, here are some vegetables that you should definitely take a second look at. They're not your usual fare, but these plants are very special and can make any garden stand out!

t is frequently claimed that GM foods are not properly tested, or asserted that few independent studies have been published to establish their safety.

Another similar claim made is that the food regulatory agencies rely exclusively of corporate information to decide whether GM food and feed are safe. The further claim is made that very few independent tests relating to GM food safety are done. This conventional 'wisdom' is wrong. The modern scientific literature shows that these commonly held opinions are merely myths. Academics Review website comprehensively shows that many of these myths are merely baseless rumours and misinformation.
