The National Weather Service says that the next pacific storm will reach central California Thursday afternoon, bringing a cold airmass and unstable air to the region.

The snow level Thursday night will be around 3500 feet. That will lower to 2500 feet by Friday night. On Friday, there will be a slight chance of thunderstorms in the Mother Lode. Brief heavy rain, small hail, gusty winds and a possible funnel cloud could accompany any thunderstorms.

LAKEPORT -- For the past several months, numerous sightings of mountain lions have been reported around Lake County, and now a new report has come from the Lakeport area.

Three separate witnesses reported seeing a mountain lion near the dumpster behind Kmart on S. Main Street on Wednesday, according to Lakeport Police Officer Jim Bell. Over the summer there were numerous reports around Lake County of lions, which were seen in areas including Kelseyville, Nice, Lucerne, Clearlake Oaks and Lakeport.

And you have a roadless area with hundreds of thousands of square miles that can only be covered by plane or chopper in Alaska and have over 11,000 wolves just in the interior that are over populated to the point they are starving.

A woman charged with performing sexual acts involving two pets and forcing a 6-year-old-boy to perform sex acts on her is back at work as a deputy director at the Centers for Disease Control.

Kimberly Quinlan Lindsey, 44, is the deputy director of the CDC's Laboratory Science, Policy and Practice Program Office (LSPPPO). She is charged with multiple counts of child molestation and one count of bestiality, according to CBS affiliate WGCL in Atlanta. Lindsey was arrested October 10 following a six-week investigation by the DeKalb County police. Police say they unearthed evidence that a 6-year-old boy was involved in sex acts with Lindsey and her boyfriend Thomas Westerman, a fellow CDC employee who is also charged in the case. The child molestation allegedly took place between January and August of 2010 at Lindsey's home in Decatur, Ga.

BOULDER - Gail Loveman was working at the computer when she turned around to see a very disconcerting staring contest. A mountain lion was looking through her sliding glass door right at her cat, Zeus.

Loveman says the mountain lion walked along the deck and then came face-to-face with Zeus. After looking in her yard, she realized there were several more mountain lions. The one at the window was a teenager and the mother stayed farther away.

Two coyotes attacked a promising young musician as she was hiking alone in a national park in eastern Canada, and authorities said she died Wednesday of her injuries.

The victim was identified as Taylor Mitchell, 19, a singer-songwriter from Toronto who was touring her new album on the East Coast. She was hiking solo on a trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia on Tuesday when the attack occurred.

A Virginia woman is suing her former employer who she alleges told to get an abortion or lose her waitressing job.

Abigail Shomo had been working as a waitress at the Mi Puerto restaurants in Radford and Fairlawn for four months before she got pregnant in 2010 and her boss allegedly gave her the ultimatum, The Roanoke Times reported Monday. Shomo decided to keep her baby, not her job, and sued Leopoldo Florez Aguirre Sr., the president of the company that owns the two restaurants, in Roanoke's federal court.

Anna "Chrissy" Music-Peed went to the Jones County Sheriff's Department for help with a vehicle left on her property that she suspected was stolen.

She wanted the police to come and check it out but specifically requested that they not shoot her dogs when they come to the property. So when the police arrived, they shot her 10-month-old dog point-blank in the head when her jumpy puppy came to play.
