A woman wants answers after she said animal control ordered police to shoot and kill her dog while it was fenced up in her own yard.

The dog, named Ella, was fenced in her yard when the animal control officer showed up saying she attacked another dog, was rabid and needed to be shot. Her owner wasn't home at the time and said none of that was true, but it's too late to save her dog. "It's really terrible and I still get upset about it sometimes. And I still miss her very much. She was a sweet dog," owner Robin Garrett said about Ella.

A woman from Tulsa, Oklahoma is suing the city's code enforcement teams after they illegally cut down her entire survival garden.

Denise Morrison, who started the garden after becoming unemployed, had over 100 medicinal and edible plants in her front and back yard. She told local Tulsa reporters that she started her garden, after becoming unemployed, as a way to feed herself and treat a variety of medical issues. Instead of relying on government handouts, this woman took matters into her own hands and decided to become self sufficient. She filled her yard with things like, fruit trees, berries, nut trees, and a wide variety of edible and medicinal herbs. She used these herbs to treat her diabetes, high-blood pressure and arthritis.

Germany is anxious about next month's World Cup soccer tournament -- in both senses of the word. The country is thrilled to host one of the most coveted sports events on the planet. Who wouldn't be?

Not surprisingly, security is a top priority for the German government, even higher than its desire to see the national team walk off the pitch with the World Cup 2006 trophy. The list of security precautions the government is taking is substantial. It begins with the use of RFID (radio frequency identification) technology. More than 3.5 million tickets for the 64 matches will be sold with an embedded RFID chip containing identification information that will be checked against a database as fans pass through entrance gates at all 12 stadiums.

We physicians with all our training, knowledge and authority often acquire a rather large ego that tends to make it difficult to admit we are wrong. So, here it is. I freely admit to being wrong...

As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience, having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries, today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact. I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labelled "opinion makers." Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol.

The world's first genetically modified humans have been created, it was revealed last night.

The disclosure that 30 healthy babies were born after a series of experiments in the United States provoked another furious debate about ethics. So far, two of the babies have been tested and have been found to contain genes from three 'parents'. Fifteen of the children were born in the past three years as a result of one experimental programme at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science of St Barnabas in New Jersey.

A leaked copy of the world's most authoritative climate study reveals scientific forecasts of imminent doom were drastically wrong.

The Mail on Sunday has obtained the final draft of a report to be published later this month by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the ultimate watchdog whose massive, six-yearly 'assessments' are accepted by environmentalists, politicians and experts as the gospel of climate science. They are cited worldwide to justify swingeing fossil fuel taxes and subsidies for 'renewable' energy. Yet the leaked report makes the extraordinary concession that over the past 15 years, recorded world temperatures have increased at only a quarter of the rate of IPCC claimed when it published its last assessment in 2007.

Anyone who still supports the usurper-and-cheat Obama based on his agriculture "policies" has apparently not been paying any attention whatsoever to reality.

Contradicting nearly every promise he made on the campaign trail with regards to reforming American agriculture and kicking out the special interests, Obama has done the exact opposite of virtually everything he said he would do, filling key government positions in both agriculture and trade with executives from the chemical and biotechnology industries. With a legacy that is now substantially more corrupt than even that of Bush Jr., Obama has exposed himself as nothing more than a puppet and lapdog of corporate agriculture, having lied his way into the White House with promises of ending the reign of terror that corporations still hold over American agriculture. Rather than keep any of these promises, Obama instead decided to fortify the ranks of the very same corporate oligarchy that continues to promote unlabeled genetically-modified organisms (GMOs), toxic crop chemicals, environmentally-destructive monoculture, and other industrial systems.

According to best-selling author Lawrence Solomon who is also a Wall Street Journal contributor, National Post columnist, and publisher of the award-winning The Next City magazine, the demeaning of vaccine skeptics in the media defies explanation.

In a Huffington Post article dated January 6th, he writes, "No journalist would have had any difficulty finding dozens of distinguished skeptical scientists for the very few "rogue" scientists that the press has vilified." Soloman gives the example of how easy it should have been for the media to notice the views of Dr. Bernadine Healy who was the former head of the National Institute of Health, the former head of the American Red Cross, and the former Chair of the White House Cabinet Group on Biotechnology, one of several White House positions she held in service to three American presidents.
