A suit brought by the city attorney's office in Los Angeles, Santa Monica and San Diego, has resulted in Whole Foods being ordered to pay nearly $800,000 in settlement fees.

The supermarket specializing in natural and organic foods was accused of charging more than the advertised price for a variety of items, according to a report by San Jose Mercury News. "The consumer protection case was brought against Whole Foods Market California Inc. and Mrs. Gooch's Natural Food Markets Inc., the two subsidiaries of Whole Foods Market Inc. that operate its California stores," reported USA Today.

The modern diet of processed foods, takeaways and microwave meals could be to blame for a sharp increase in autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, including alopecia, asthma and eczema.

A team of scientists from Yale University in the U.S and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, in Germany, say junk food diets could be partly to blame. 'This study is the first to indicate that excess refined and processed salt may be one of the environmental factors driving the increased incidence of autoimmune diseases,' they said.

Following the 2009 influenza A/H1N1 pandemic, both seasonal and pH1N1 viruses circulated in the US during the 2010-2011 influenza season; influenza vaccine effectiveness may vary between live attenuated and trivalent inactivated vaccines as by subtype.

Overall, a low level of protection against clinically-apparent, laboratory-confirmed, influenza was found for the 2010-11 seasonal influenza vaccines. TIV immunization was associated with higher protection than LAIV, however, no protection against A/H1 was noted, despite inclusion of a pandemic influenza strain as a vaccine component for two consecutive years. Vaccine virus mismatch or lower immunogenicity may have contributed to these findings and deserve further examination in controlled studies. Continued assessment of VE in military personnel is essential in order to better inform vaccination policy decisions.

The fact that the left has demagogued this issue so hard proves they really don't have a valid argument here. It's strictly an emotion based argument.

Did you know that Hobby Lobby actually provides their employees with 16 out of the 20 different types of contraception? Did you know that Hobby Lobby has no moral or religious objection to most forms of birth control, only those that are abortion related, like the morning after pill? But that would make Sandra Fluke a liar. It can't be true!

The last report issued in 2013 by the Department of Justice Vaccine Court, for compensation made by the Health and Human Services for people injured or killed by vaccines, was released in December 2013, covering the period of 8/16/2013 through 11/15/2013.

The report is available as a Power Point presentation here. There were 139 claims settled during this time period, with 70 of them being compensated. So, just over 50% of the claims filed for vaccine damages were compensated during this period. Once again, the greatest percentage of damages compensated were for the influenza vaccine, and most of those were for Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). Yet these facts, tucked away in a file on the Department of Health and Human Services website, are never reported in the mainstream media.

According to the START consortium at the University of Maryland, here is the threat from "far right" extremism in America.

Even if we factor in the Oklahoma City bombing we are talking about 16 fatalities a year. In a nation of over 300 million people. Let's contextualize by showing the odds of being killed by other things in America that are not "far right" extremists with this Economist chart. If the odds of dying in a given year for an American is about 20,000,000:1, then you are more likely to be killed by the following things than by "right-wing extremists"...

"Why in the world would they do this to a 70 year old guy?"

When dealing with police, the average person is always guilty until proven innocent. Apparently this rule even applies to senior citizens who are experiencing medical emergencies. On January 4th of this year in San Antonio a 70-year old diabetic was brutally assaulted by police at a traffic stop because they had suspected him of being drunk. However, the man was not drunk, but was actually feeling ill and experiencing a diabetic attack.

Over 2,000 care-home kids were secretly vaccinated against diphtheria in the 1930s in medical trials undertaken by international drugs giant Burroughs Wellcome, Irish media reveal. Among the testing sites was a recently discovered mass grave.

The medical records cited by the Irish Daily Mail show that some 2,051 children and babies across several Irish care homes may have been subjected to the practice. Michael Dwyer, of Cork University's School of History, found the data after foraging through tens of thousands of archive files and old medical journals. What he did not find is whether any consent was gained for these alleged illegal drug trials or any records of the effects on the infants involved. Dwyer discovered that the tests were carried out shortly before the drugs were made readily available in the UK. The homes involved included Bessborough, County Cork, and Sean Ross Abbey in Roscrea, County Tipperary.
