It's what this chart doesn't say that's really the story.

Numerous Americans nowadays are accused of being "anti-science." Yet making decisions and forming opinions without respect to all the facts is not a partisan problem. It's an information problem. Take a look at this chart made by Oxford PhD. student Avi Roy.

It's often used as a quick weight loss method - but fasting could also help the body to fight off disease. Refraining from food for as little as two days can regenerate the immune system, helping the body to fight infection, according to a new study.

Scientists at the University of Southern California said the findings could have major implications for the elderly and people suffering from damaged immune systems, such as cancer patients. Researchers tested the effects of fasting for two to four day periods over the course of six months on both mice and humans. In both cases, long periods of not eating significantly lowered white blood cell counts. And in mice, each cycle of fasting then "flipped a regenerative switch" that triggered stem cell-based regeneration of new white blood cells, thereby renewing the body's defence system.

The 2013-2014 flu season has seen multiple lawsuits started for violating the rights of healthcare workers in refusing employment based on mandatory flu vaccinations.

Now, according to a new report published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the stage may be setting for mandatory flu vaccines as a condition for employment in other job sectors outside of healthcare facilities, such as food service, education, community and social services, personal care, cleaning and maintenance, and even real estate. The increase in mandatory flu vaccines for healthcare workers began in 2012, with the implementation of Obamacare, which links federal reimbursement of Medicare and Medicaid funding to the percentage of healthcare workers vaccinated for the seasonal flu.

Millions of tons of plastic waste litter the world's oceans, converging together in rotating currents called gyres and blanketing the water's surface. On average, these gyres now hold six times more plastic than plankton by dry weight.

Fortunately, 19-year-old Boyan Slat, founder and president of The Ocean Cleanup, claims to "have invented a method to clean up almost half of the great Pacific's garbage patch in just 10 years, using currents to [his] advantage." The self-described environmentalist and entrepreneur first presented his revolutionary ideas at a TEDx Talk in the Netherlands and was recently named one of Intel's 20 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs Worldwide (Intel EYE50).

Medical health authorities, including doctors, nurses, and other members of the allopathic fraternity, employ a number of strategies designed to elicit parental submission to vaccine guidelines.

Currently, parents are expected to grant authorities permission to toxify their children's pure and sacred little bodies with more than 30 blends of rare germs, bacteria, and other foul substances - all before they enter school! To adequately assess the relevance of vaccine-related news, or the perils of vaccine-related situations you may find yourself in - and to increase your knowledge about how to protect your loved ones - several of the more common vaccine-related schemes you're likely to encounter are included in the following section, along with samples of each.

While wind power is one of the cleanest sources of renewable energy in the world - and the top source for new U.S. electricity generation as of 2012 - many people still take issue with turbines and their noise.

Though some people living near turbines say that the low hum doesn't cause much trouble, others report daily annoyance, with some controversially linking the noise to physical ailments. But a Dutch company called Archimedes has set out to change that mindset by releasing the Liam F1 Urban Wind Turbine, a $5,400 model set to roll out next January. The company promises to boost efficiency and cut your electricity bill, while making little to no noise in the process.

Aiming to isolate radioactive water build-up, Fukushima nuclear plant's operator, TEPCO, has started constructing a huge underground ice wall around the facility. The ambitious project will have to be maintained for well over a century to reach its goal.

Tokyo Electric Power Company has launched work on the 1.5 kilometer underground ice wall, which is to be built around four reactors at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi No. 1 nuclear power plant, Kyodo news agency reports. According to Kyodo, 1,550 pipes will now be inserted into the ground to circulate coolant around the reactors, keeping the surrounding soil constantly frozen. The government funded project, which will cost an estimated 32 billion yen (US$314 million), is scheduled for completion by the end March 2015. It will then take a few more months to fully freeze the soil after the coolant starts circulating, according to TEPCO.

A humungous Earth-like planet found by US astronomers has changed the perception of planet formation. A rocky world found by Kepler space observatory should by rights have become a giant ball of gas, but has remained a planet for billions of years.

The newly discovered Kepler-10c planet has been dubbed 'Mega-Earth' thanks to its diameter of 29,000 kilometers and an estimated weight 17 times greater than Earth, which has a diameter of 12,742 kilometers. This makes Kepler-10c the biggest rocky planet ever discovered. The new planet is circling a very old Sun-like star, Kepler-10, some 560 light years from Earth. If you look up in the sky this star can be seen in the Draco constellation, which is 300 million light years away.

Recent study shows a strong link between pesticide exposure and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, as well as other chronic diseases.

The United States uses about 1.1 billion pounds of pesticides each year.1, 2 Worldwide pesticide use amounts to approximately 5.2 billion pounds annually. There's little doubt that the current pesticide load is taking a toll, as mounting research has linked pesticides to an array of serious health problems. Processed foods form the basis of nearly everyone's diet, as 95 percent of the food Americans buy is processed. If this is you, then you can consider yourself in the highest risk category, as such fare tends to contain the greatest amounts of hidden genetically engineered (GE) ingredients, and hence the highest pesticide load.

Do I have proof of this being the case? You better believe I have proof.

Section 27-8.1.7 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) Health examinations and immunizations law explains that if a school vaccination rate falls below 90 percent, state aid payments to that school are automatically cut by 10 percent until the school comes into "compliance"
