One year ago, 15-year-old Lawrence King was shot in the head by a fellow student at a middle school in Oxnard, CA.

While the motives of 14-year-old Brandon McInerney were complex, the primary motive was profoundly simple: Lawrence was gay, he often preferred girls' clothing and accessories, and he expressed romantic feelings toward Brandon.

MSM fact-checkers are a cancer on our political process, a cynical and partisan conceit created by the left-wing media that allows them to arbitrarily judge what is and is not the truth, in an effort to bring down Republicans and boost Democrats.

I won't even mince words here, the Politifacts and Anderson Cooper's "Keeping Them Honest," and the like must be exposed and neutralized. Conservative media and anyone else interested in truth and objective reporting must get the word out about this charade. Good heavens, the "Pulitzer Prize winning" Politifact has gone so far as to protect Obama from "Saturday Night Live." No, really.

Web hosting provider iomart has asked the UK government to enforce the purchase of software products that protect children for public sector organizations responsible for childcare.

iomart suggests that organizations implement software products that have been awarded the BSI Kitemark for Child Online Saftey, which its web security software Netintelligence has received, and is the "first and only such software" to do so. This suggestion comes as UK MPs say the government needs to provide more education on cybercrime and raise awareness on how to be safe online.

In April, eighth-grader Jared Marcum was arrested for refusing to change a T-shirt with the National Rifle Association logo, a picture of a rifle, and the words "Protect Your Right."

The 14-year-old now faces a possible $500 fine . . . and up to a year in prison. Jared had bean wearing the shirt in the cafeteria when a teacher demanded he either change it or reverse it. He refused and was sent to "the office," where he again refused. And then a police officer was called in. According to press accounts, when Jared was sent to the principal's office, he went. Doesn't sound like he posed a threat to anybody. Why was the cop called in?

If you use your website to publish news, events, opinions or interviews, you should familiarize yourself with the basics of journalism. These tools can help us develop and share information that is exciting, intelligent, and responsible.

Even if you're just casually writing about why you personally love/hate the iPad (for example), you can do so in a truthful way (truthful to your own opinions and truthful to the information you are discussing). Whether or not you strive to produce writing that you consider journalism is not all that important. What is important is that no matter what writing genre you specialize in, you have a responsibility to your readers to publish high quality writing that is truthful, accurate, and readable. Oh, and this applies to your professional Twitter stream and Facebook updates, too. All of these elements have a reflection on you and your brand.

You have to hear this to believe it.

Here's the full transcript, courtesy of Chicks on the Right: Mr. President, Fox News isn't what's making Americans sick about your healthcare law. Your healthcare law is. Welcome, everybody, I'm Neil Cavuto. And excuse this departure from form. But I think this is just poor form. So, it's time we set some things straight. Mr. President, we at Fox News are not the problem. I hate to break it to you, sir. You are. Your words are. Your promises are. We didn't sell this healthcare law. Sir, you did. Remember this? President Barack Obama: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period...
