- Is America Embracing the 10 Tenets of the Communist Manifesto?

by Brian Koenig
April 24, 2012
Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, the purported founders of communism, established in the 19th century a government paradigm that transformed Europe and other regions in the eastern hemisphere.
Writing for The Blaze, Tiffany Gabbay recently produced a thoughtful exposé entitled "Are We Headed Toward the Constitution or the Communist Manifesto?" that breaks down the 10 tenets of Marx and Engels' infamous 1848 publication and describes how those 10 steps or "planks" to establish communism are slowly being woven into American society. In prefacing her piece, which was published on Saturday, Gabbay quotes the British philosopher Anthony Flew, who exploited Marx's blatant disregard for the truth...

Across the United States, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) provide educational homes for hundreds of thousands of African-American students.
Last week, at our annual HBCU Faculty Summit in our New York City office, we had the chance to host more than 50 professors and administrators from 16 HBCUs across the country. The 2011 summit had three themes: infrastructure, curriculum and partnership. We were pleased to lead thoughtful conversations around these themes and discuss the benefits Google Apps can bring to a campus.
'Zero tolerance' takes hit in lacrosse case

April 15, 2012
The concept of "zero tolerance," in which schools set mandatory penalties for certain infractions and recognize no mitigating circumstances, took a hit when the Maryland Board of Education reversed the suspensions of two students.
The decision came in the case of two Easton High School lacrosse players who were determined by the school to be in possession of "deadly weapons" for having a penknife and a lighter. Both items were part of their kit used to maintain their athletic equipment. "This is a huge victory for students everywhere," said John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute, which represented the students.
'You Didn't Build That' and the Darkness of Collective Punishment
PJ Media
July 31, 2012
The fallacy of collective achievement led directly to last century's murderous scapegoating.
As Obama's "you didn't build that" quote is probed and analyzed, note that the idea of redistributing other people's achievements is only the tip of an ideological iceberg. Lest we take Obama's words out of context and be accused of "swift-quoting," let's review the full passage. Speaking at a campaign stop in Roanoke, VA, on July 13, Barack Obama said...
'You are such a liar. No wonder nobody likes you': What teachers 'told teenager with learning difficulties in class'

November 10, 2011
Two teachers have allegedly been caught calling a 14-year-old girl with special needs 'dumb' and 'lazy' - after she recorded them.
When the student's parents, from Washington Court House, Ohio, feared their daughter was being bullied, they hid a tape recorder in her clothing. They were stunned to hear teacher Christy Wilt and her aide Kelly Chaffins allegedly poking fun at the teenager's weight and forcing her to run on a treadmill.
'You Are a Bad Person if You Send Your Children to Private School'

At first, I thought this was satire. Evidently it is not...
I am not an education policy wonk: I’m just judgmental. But it seems to me that if every single parent sent every single child to public school, public schools would improve. This would not happen immediately. It could take generations. Your children and grandchildren might get mediocre educations in the meantime, but it will be worth it, for the eventual common good.
'Work-Study' School Set For 2007
The Washington Post (WA)
by Jay Mathews
January 20, 2006
The first private high school in the area to support itself largely through wages earned by students working one day a week for local employers will open in Takoma Park in fall 2007.
Archdiocese officials said the new Cristo Rey school, based on a work-study model first tried in inner-city Chicago 10 years ago, will be its first new archdiocese high school in more than 55 years. The Cristo Rey model has been hailed by many Catholic educators as a way to reverse the decline of parochial schools in inner cities and also give low-income students a way to earn private school tuition.
