It's not about defense. It's about government-funded jobs for their constituents.

If you need an example of why it is hard to cut the budget in Washington look no further than this Army depot in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada range. CNN was allowed rare access to what amounts to a parking lot for more than 2,000 M-1 Abrams tanks. Here, about an hour's drive north of Reno, Nevada, the tanks have been collecting dust in the hot California desert because of a tiff between the Army and Congress. The U.S. has more than enough combat tanks in the field to meet the nation's defense needs - so there's no sense in making repairs to these now, the Army's chief of staff Gen. Raymond T. Odierno told Congress earlier this year.

Admittedly liberal Mediaite exposes the condescension, exaggeration, hypocrisy, and naivete of Brietbart writer Kurt Schlicter's two posts cajoling Ron Paul supporters and "libertarians".

In a two-part column over at Breitbart's Big Government, Kurt Schlichter practically begs libertarians to "support our Constitution" and vote for Mitt Romney this November in order to avoid not only the "destruction of this country" by way of a second Obama term, but also to avoid the destruction of libertarianism by way of the Libertarian Party becoming a pariah. The begging will not work, especially when it comes with the usual platitudinous overtures to America and the Constitution being at stake; and the suggestion that not supporting Romney is to selfishly disregard of the Constitution in the name of ideology. No matter how you dice the logic, a committed Republican accusing libertarians of not supporting the Constitution is nothing short of laughable. . . .

The RNC kicked off last night with a vote on the highly controversial rules committee report in which a small committee of GOP establishment favorites tweaked the rules to allow the national convention to override and block delegates from state and local conventions if they don't personally approve of those delegates. The move has been attacked nationwide as a top-down takeover of grass-roots and TEA party politics by the GOP elite at the national level. As such, delegations from several states were prepared to fight the measure when it came to a vote. They did, but the top-down GOP apparatus was already in full swing, and prepared . . . to ignore them totally. And it did.

Your editor was hoping someone would chronicle all of the cheating and tricks used to stifle Ron Paul to date, for they have been extensive. Here's a great essay towards that goal.

If you follow mainstream election coverage, you might think Mitt Romney has coasted to an honest, easy, well-deserved Republican nomination. Unfortunately for Republican voters, nothing could be further from the truth. The primary process has been an all-out slugfest and many of the delegates Romney has won may be the result of dirty tricks and even election fraud. The following narrative includes links to reports, first-hand testimonials, and video evidence highlighting actions taken by the GOP to ensure a Romney victory, at the expense of fracturing the party just prior to the general election. Party leaders at the county and state level have changed or violated party rules, cancelled caucuses, changed vote counts, thrown out entire counties of votes, counted public votes privately, called-in the SWAT team, and inexplicably replaced Paul delegates with Romney delegates to block Ron Paul from winning the nomination.

Don Watkins of the Ayn Rand Institute* explains why we may be saddened but should not be shocked by the ObamaCare ruling...

"There's this illusion that I think a lot of people have that we had this private free-market system and then President Obama came along and ruined it all with ObamaCare. That is not at all the truth. The fact is, we've had systematic intervention in the health care system for the last 70 years or so. . . . This is part of this larger growing trend of government intervention."

Steve Deace provides six reasons why "lesser of two evils" voting is wrong for Christians, and then explains why he cannot vote for Mitt Romney.

My own credibility is at stake here. I constantly criticze situational ethics and subjective moral standards. Does Romney now become better because of how bad Obama is? If one of my children lies repeatedly to their mother, do I not hold them accountable because another sibling stabbed her with a butcher knife? What kind of an example is that? If I endorse Romney, do I go on MSNBC and say as a Christian on national television my liar is better than your liar?

When people download a film from Netflix to a flatscreen, or turn on web radio, they could be alerting unwanted watchers to exactly what they are doing and where they are.

Spies will no longer have to plant bugs in your home - the rise of 'connected' gadgets controlled by apps will mean that people 'bug' their own homes, says CIA director David Petraeus. The CIA claims it will be able to 'read' these devices via the internet - and perhaps even via radio waves from outside the home.

In a ruling last fall, Wisconsin judge Patrick Fiedler ruled against a family that produced raw milk. In his ruling, he held that the plaintiffs "operate a dairy farm," and thus had to comply with State law in that regard.

Much more disturbingly, however, Fiedler ruled that the plaintiffs had "no fundamental right" to consume foods of their choice, or even to "own a cow" and "consume milk from their own cow." In a clarification to his ruling, the judge wrote that the plaintiffs (and thus people in general)...

Voddie, because I have a great respect for you and your opinion I would really like to know why you are voting for Ron Paul? I have not liked some of the things I have heard him say and I am wondering if I missed something?" -Pamela Wolfe

Since posting a passing comment on my Facebook fan page about Ron Paul, I have been inundated with questions and concerns about my support of the Texas Congressman in the current Republican Primary race. In one of my many political posts (frequently, I post videos, news articles, etc., in an effort to show the importance and influence of worldview), I simply stated that I voted for Dr. Paul in the last election, and planned to vote for him again. The result was hundreds of comments; more than any other post I've ever submitted. Most of the comments were positive. However, several were extremely negative. Some vowed never to follow, or support my ministry any further, while others simply communicated their dismay. Still others, like today's questioner, just asked honest questions. As a result, I've decided to explain my position, and this seemed like the best place to do it.

Ron Paul's 2002 predictions all come true.

This clip needs no commentary from me. I've posted this video so many times, and still, the sheep keep their heads buried in the sand and condemn Dr. Paul claiming he's ignorant on Foreign Policy. This video was a warning recorded prior to our invasion of Iraq. Now that we've pulled out, what did we gain from that illegal war? Dr. Paul hit the nail on the head *ahead* of the fact. It is beyond me as to how anyone can claim Dr. Paul's understanding of Foreign Policy is anything other than absolutely correct.
