A couple of years ago while in Manhattan my wife and I stayed at the W hotel downtown. Why? Because we had a tremendous urge to stick it to The Man, that's why.

By the time we checked out, a feeling of satisfaction engulfed us because we knew we'd finally gotten even with the upper one percent. It was the kind of warm deliverance from a world of Wall Street greed that only paying hundreds of dollars to a publicly traded corporate hotel chain can provide. As it turns out, we were "Occupiers" before Occupying was cool.

Here's ten minutes of moonbat moshpittery to be filed under "when life imitates South Park."

From what I can gather from the video, Rep. John Lewis (D-issed) showed up to address "Occupy Atlanta," and it was decided that the crowd should take a vote on it because Lewis wasn't on the original schedule. Hilarity ensued in a cloud of "repeat after me." Lewis' attempt to address the gathering was apparently voted down (which would be today's NYT headline if this were a Tea Party) in a show of "jazz hands" from the crowd, and Lewis was on his way...

Too bad. I was looking forward to watching the "99er squatting on a police car" float made entirely out of roses, marigolds and a few thousand torn-up deposit slips from Bank of America lead the parade while Miley Cyrus lip-synched Liberty Walk.

The Occupy DC mom who used her two toddlers to block a convention center door amid mayhem says she's not going to stop using her kids as human blockades.

On Nov. 4, when Occupy DC was protesting in front of an Americans For Prosperity (AFP) event at the Washington Convention Center, this Occu-Mom set up her blockade with her two little kids in front of one of the doors. MRCTV captured on video the two distressed toddlers sitting in a toy wagon amidst the police intervention and ensuing pushing and shoving.

New Yorkers who live near the park where anti-Wall Street protesters have been camping out for more than a month are complaining that their quality of life has declined.

At a two-hour meeting Thursday night, some neighbors said protesters urinated in the streets and beat drums in the middle of the night. "They're defecating on our doorsteps," Community Board 1 member Catherine Hughes said. Some neighbors who attended the packed meeting called for the protesters to vacate Zuccotti Park, the concrete plaza where protesters have set up their base camp.

There are threats to the political power held by the left (and therefore the media) and then there are THREATS.

In their quest to unseat a failed president and undo ObamaCare, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry are threats. Herman Cain on the other hand, is a THREAT, an existential threat to the Left for the very same reasons Sarah Palin is an existential threat: he's conservative and not a white male.

The University of Southern California is facing a federal civil rights investigation after students filed a complaint alleging that the school ignored rapes on campus and even failed to prosecute attackers after they confessed.

One USC student, remaining anonymous, involved in the complaint stated that campus police decided the young woman wasn't raped because her attack did not orgasm. "Because he stopped, it was not rape," she was told, according to the complaint. "Even though his penis penetrated your vagina, because he stopped, it was not a crime." Because her attacker did not orgasm, campus police decided not to refer the case to Los Angeles Police. Another student cited a similar occurrence.

Recently, the U.S Census Bureau released a report that creates a new designation of "low income" in order to "better reflect the distribution of poverty in the US."

The Associated Press ran with a headline, "Census shows 1 in 2 people are poor or low-income," and scores of other media outlets followed suit with equally dire ledes. In NJ, one outlet reported, "Census: Nearly half of Americans live in poverty," while Russia Today reported that "Half of America is officially poor." But analysts at the U.S. Census Bureau district office in Los Angeles are reporting today that perhaps journalists misunderstood. and over 300 online news reports simply got the story wrong.

Fresh reports about the massive amount of electronic data that the nation's spy agencies are collecting "raise profound questions about privacy" because of what they say about how such information will be collected in the future.

And Glenn Greenwald, the activist/blogger/journalist who has been breaking stories this week in The Guardian about what the National Security Agency, FBI and other agencies are doing, said on Morning Edition that he believes the National Security Agency hopes to create a "worldwide surveillance net that allows it to monitor what all human beings are doing." Meanwhile, as we reported Thursday night, the Obama administration's director of national intelligence says the intelligence agencies work "within the constraints of the law to collect, analyze and understand information related to potential threats to our national security." In a statement, James Clapper added that "the intelligence community is committed to respecting the civil liberties and privacy of all American citizens."
