U.S. government officials approved President-elect Barack Obama's use of a "dot-gov" web domain name.

Christopher P. Lu, executive director of the Obama-Biden Transition Project, wrote in a letter dated Election Day that the private campaign organization had made a request to be awarded one of the restricted "dot-gov" addresses, specifically "change.gov."

How many Americans does it take to screw in a light bulb? According to President-elect Barack Obama, 2.5 million.

Obama has a new plan, he says, to save or create at least 2.5 million jobs. "We need to upgrade our federal buildings by replacing old heating systems and installing efficient light bulbs," Obama said.

A California public interest legal group has taken on a high-profile battle that already has at least three entire law firms lining up on the other side.

But the group has promised to fight until a resolution is reached in the dispute over Barack Obama's eligibility to be president. "For the sake of our Constitution and our republic, the issue MUST be resolved," the legal advocacy group says in a new campaign seeking support for its work.

The U.S. Supreme Court today announced it has denied bringing Donofrio v. Wells - one of several cases challenging Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president - before a full hearing.

The case of Leo C. Donofrio v. New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells claims Obama does not meet the Constitution's Article 2, Section 1 "natural-born citizen" requirement for president because of his dual citizenship at birth.

The media bought it. The voters bought it. And now some in Congress are resisting the idea of congressional hearings because they believe that Barack Obama's "birth certificate" has been posted online.

Not so. What was posted was not a birth certificate, but something that resembles a "Certification of Live Birth" or COLB, which, even if authentic, does not prove "natural born" U.S. citizenship. You see, in Hawaii, a Certification of Live Birth is issued within a year of a child's birth to those who register a birth abroad or one that takes place outside a hospital.

Gun sales have skyrocketed since Barack Obama was elected, and many gun owners say they are concerned the nation's next president and a Democratic-controlled Congress will impose a ban on assault rifles and firearm ownership.

From Nov. 3 to Nov. 9, the FBI reported 374,000 background checks on people purchasing guns - a 49 percent jump from last year. Dealers are reporting larger-than-usual sales since Election Day, according to the Chicago Tribune. The rush to buy weapons is more intense than in the days following Y2K and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Even though Hawaii officials now claim to have verified the authenticity of Sen. Barack Obama's birth certificate - in hopes of ending widespread speculation - it turns out there is still reason for serious questioning.

Gov. Linda Lingle instructed the Hawaii Department of Health to make sure no one in the press obtains access to Obama's original birth certificate. Lingle's letter to WND made clear that the original doctor-generated and hospital-released birth certificate on file with the state's health department would be released to the press if Obama so requested - but to date the candidate has made no such request.

A lawsuit filed by Democratic attorney Philip Berg alleging that Sen. Barack Obama is ineligible to be president was dismissed by a federal judge yesterday on grounds that Berg lacks standing to bring the lawsuit.

In a 34-page memorandum that accompanied the court order, the Hon. R. Barclay Surrick concludes that ordinary citizens can't sue to ensure that a presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the office.

The mask is off. The pretense over. After decades of pretending they're not biased leftward, even though everyone else knew it, America's "mainstream media" have finally, during 2008, dropped the façade of fairness and impartiality.

The New York Times publishes Barack Obama's op-ed on Iraq policy, but refuses to run McCain's op-ed. At the same time, all three network's news anchors tag along with Obama like groupies on his overseas stump tour, while McCain receives scant media coverage.

Following a week of controversy over Fox News' decision to exclude Rep. Ron Paul from a nationally televised forum of GOP candidates two days before the New Hampshire primary, the state Republican Party announced today it had withdrawn its co-sponsorship.

In a press release, New Hampshire Republican Party chairman Fergus Cullen said, "We believe all recognized major candidates should have an equal opportunity to participate in pre-primary debates and forums. This principle applies to tonight's debates on ABC as well as Sunday's planned forum on FOX.
