A sweeping set of changes to the New York City Police Department's controversial "stop-and-frisk" program has been put on hold.

In August, U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin found the program unconstitutional, saying police had relied on a "policy of indirect racial profiling" that led officers to routinely stop "blacks and Hispanics who would not have been stopped if they were white." While she did not halt the use of stop-and-frisk, Scheindlin appointed a federal court monitor to oversee a series of reforms. The city appealed Scheindlin's ruling, saying it made officers "passive and scared" to frisk suspects. On Thursday, it got what it was hoping for, and much more. An appeals court stayed the changes, effectively postponing the operations of the monitor, while allowing police officers to continue using stop-and-frisk tactics.

I must make a confession. I was wrong. I admit it. I am guilty.

I've written about Obamacare a few times. Selfishly, shortsightedly - like the partisan propagandist that I am - all I've done is concentrate on the NEGATIVE stories and the BAD things about Obamacare. Duped, I suppose, by Fox News and the Koch Brothers, I only thought about the millions of people who are facing skyrocketing premiums, canceled insurance plans, and loss of employment as a direct result of Obama's health care legislation. I even went so far as to give these people a platform to tell their stories (The Definitive Guide to How Obamacare is Destroying American Lives). Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people emailed to tell me how they are suffering because of Obamacare. But, as many liberals have reminded me, these folks were all lying. Or they're mistaken. They're reading letters from their insurance companies that say things like, "we're canceling your plan because it doesn't fit ACA regulations" - but they're mistaken. Just because their insurance company is explicitly informing them that they are losing their coverage because of Obamacare, that doesn't mean they're necessarily losing their coverage because of Obamacare. They could be misinterpreting. Or they're delusional...

Conservatives say Congress has exempted itself from ObamaCare. And they're right. Liberals claim that Congress is not exempt from ObamaCare.

Technically they are right, but if you have any brains at all you understand that through the smallest technicality politicians can make moon-sized loopholes. Here's how they did it. For us ordinary citizens ObamaCare will affect us in one of three different ways. If you are really poor, then you will be able to get health care insurance paid for by taxpayers. Mind you, you have to be really poor, not just poor. If you are from a state run by idiots (mostly blue states) then health insurance in your state was already sky high because of the moronic laws your Democrat governor/house made and there's a good chance you'll either pay the same, or maybe a little less. If you aren't really poor and not from a state run by idiots, then your health care insurance premiums with skyrocket and your deductible will balloon to insane proportions. Most Americans fall into that last category.

Soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas, were warned to stay away from the Tea Party and evangelical Christian organizations like the American Family Association. Failure to heed the warning could result in punishment.

According to the Times, that was the message soldiers at a pre-deployment briefing said they received from a counter-intelligence agent who headed up the meeting. Starnes said one soldier who attended the Oct. 17 briefing told him the agent spent nearly a half-hour saying these groups are "tearing the country apart." The Times said that the agent allegedly said those who donate to these groups would be subject to discipline under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Soldiers attending a pre-deployment briefing at Fort Hood say they were told evangelical Christians and members of the Tea Party were a threat to the nation and that any soldier donating to those groups would be subjected to punishment under the UCMJ.

A soldier who attended the Oct. 17th briefing told me the counter-intelligence agent in charge of the meeting spent nearly a half hour discussing how evangelical Christians and groups like the American Family Association were "tearing the country apart." Michael Berry, an attorney with the Liberty Institute, is advising the soldier and has launched an investigation into the incident. "The American public should be outraged that the U.S. Army is teaching our troops that evangelical Christians and Tea Party members are enemies of America, and that they can be punished for supporting or participating in those groups," said Berry, a former Marine Corps JAG officer. "These statements about evangelicals being domestic enemies are a serious charge."

A brand-new report suggests that Hillary Clinton's State Department leaked confidential national security secrets to New York Times reporter David Sanger.

The leaks were allegedly in exchange for writings that made the department look tougher. Judge Andrew Napolitano discussed the severity of the leaks on this morning's Fox and Friends. "All governments leak information, we know that. But when the government leaks national security secrets in return for favorable treatment in the press, the government is showing its hypocrisy because it is violating the very same statute that it's attempting to prosecute Edward Snowden for violating," Napolitano said.

The federal health care exchange at Heathcare.gov has accidentally enrolled thousands of applicants in the government's sex offender registry, the latest of many technical failures to hit the troubled site.

According to several senior officials, since the exchange went live on Oct. 1 around 40,000 individuals looking to buy insurance have instead been listed on the National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW), a searchable database of rapists, molesters and others convicted of sex crimes. The mix up was first discovered by people searching for sex offenders in their neighborhoods, only to find their own names. Administrators are uncertain how such an error occurred, but they note that both websites were built by the same contractor, CGI Federal.

General practitioners in England have been receiving £50 bonuses for placing patients on controversial 'death lists' in order to reduce the number of occupied hospital beds. The move is yet another tactic aimed at cutting NHS costs, UK media reported.

Each death which occurs outside an NHS hospital has been calculated to save the health system some £1,000 ($1,600) in England. On average, deaths which occur inside NHS hospitals cost the service around £3,065 (just under $5000), while those elsewhere cost £2,107 (around $3,400). Doctors have been given bonuses for drawing up 'end-of-life advanced care plans' for patients they predict will die within a year. The payments in question apparently have the intention of keeping NHS costs as low as possible.
