If there were any doubt that Eliot Spitzer has spiraled down into further delusion and irrelevance, it was erased Friday afternoon in an embarrassing and bizarre shootout between the disgraced former NY Attorney General and CNBC's Maria Bartiromo.

At issue were allegations that a trove of private emails may exist showing the former purchaser of high-priced prostitutes launched a personally motivated prosecution against former AIG chief Hank Greenberg. Of the eight charges Spitzer brought against Greenberg, six have been dropped, with the last two in the process of being dismissed, according to Greenberg's lawyer. Still, throughout the interview Spitzer alleged numerous times that Greenberg engaged in "fraud," despite the fact that no federal or state court has ever found as much. "You can't say 'fraudulent' because there's no indictment. You can't just throw around the word 'fraud,'" challenged CNBC reporter Maria Bartiromo. "Why have six out of eight charges been dropped?"

Gov. Jerry Brown finished deciding late Sunday the fate of bills passed by the Legislature, signing into law a measure that bans the open carrying of handguns in California.

The handgun bill, AB144 by Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, D-La Canada Flintridge (Los Angeles County), takes effect Jan. 1 and was backed by law enforcement officials throughout the state who said the practice created a public safety issue as the public and police cannot tell whether the weapons are loaded. It creates a misdemeanor for people who carry unloaded handguns, though gun-rights advocates who have pushed the issue say they will respond by carrying long guns, such as rifles and shotguns.

In order to understand the "equation", you have to have knowledge of what each of the components stand for. As this develops, I believe you will see how it relates to the reduction and diminishing of the sovereignty of the United States of America.

In March, 2005, the President of the United States, the President of Mexico and the Prime Minister of Canada met in Texas for the creation of the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP)." This new agreement was never submitted to the Congress for debate, discussion and/or decision.

In a very strange and sad story developing out of Pennsylvania, one of Michael Bloomberg's "Mayors Against Illegal Guns" members has found himself in jail.

James Schiliro, mayor of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, was arrested this past Thursday for official oppression, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and furnishing a minor with alcohol. Schiliro ordered a local policemen to bring him a 20-year-old male to his home. At which point Schiliro allegedly served the minor alcohol and tried to have sex with him. When the minor refused, Schiliro apparently retrieved multiple handguns, where he then proceeded to fire one of them in the minors direction as a form of intimidation.

Is Fisker Automotive the next Solyndra? Maybe, but that misses the larger point.

Fisker Automotive suspended efforts in Delaware last week to retool an abandoned GM production plant into a manufacturing facility for its new electric hybrid NINA, derived from the $104,000 luxury Karma.

At the rate he's going, our president will soon be taking credit for the discovery of natural gas.

In Ancient China, the Emperor went out every spring and walked the fields to bless the harvest and encourage the crops to grow. Sure enough, when the peasants put the seeds in the ground, the crops appeared and the Emperor took credit. The job of President of the United States is often much the same.

Its name is cellulosic ethanol -- it's nonexistent but oil companies are still being fined by the EPA for not buying into it.

Peering ahead at the worst possible outcomes of Obamacare five years from now, imagine that individuals were being fined by the Department of Health and Human Services for failing to buy health insurance -- even though insurance companies have withdrawn from the market and aren't offering it anymore! Would that be fair?

St. Clair and Bibb county authorities are confirming there were roadblocks at several locations in their counties Friday and Saturday asking for blood and DNA samples.

However, the samples were "voluntary" and motorists were paid for them as part of a study, they said. According to Lt. Freddie Turrentine of the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department, it isn't the first time such roadblocks have occurred in the area.

A Florida appeals court appears to have cleared the way for a Hillsborough judge to use Islamic law to decide a key issue in a lawsuit involving a local mosque.

In a case that has attracted national attention, the 2nd District Court of Appeal on Friday denied without comment a petition to prevent Judge Richard Nielsen from invoking Islamic law. The petition, filed by the Islamic Education Center of Tampa, contested a March ruling by Nielsen announcing his intent to use "ecclesiastical Islamic law" in the case.

What is the "worst nightmare" one can imagine in an encounter between a police officer and a member of the productive class?

One answer is offered by the experience of Eric Garner, who died after being choked and swarmed without cause by a thugscrum of NYPD officers. That nightmare continues for his wife, his six children, his grandchildren, and others who were deprived of his company because of an unprovoked act of criminal aggression by privileged purveyors of government-sanctioned violence. What, on the other hand, is the "worst nightmare" for a police officer in such a situation? In a single word, accountability.
