The Oval: Tracking the Obama presidency

by David Jackson

August 14, 2009

Reporter Damon Weaver, an 11-year-old student at Kathryn E. Cunningham/Canal Point Elementary School in Palm Beach County, Fla., interviewed President Obama yesterday about education, nutrition, basketball, and what it's like to be president.

Damon is a go-getter. Last year, he interviewed then-vice presidential candidate Joe Biden. He also covered Obama's inauguration and interviewed a number of celebrities, credits he cited in a letter to Obama seeking the presidential interview.

In almost twenty years of full time activism, rarely have I seen such an uproar as we're seeing over Comrade Obama and Congress' attempt to take over another private industry.

Americans have read the fine print and gone ballistic, as well they should. The wrath of the American people is long over due. These craven jackals in Congress have become fearful of the American people exercising their right to demand their elected representatives in Congress do what they want, not what special interests pay these prostitutes to do for them.

It was allegedly issued as a certified copy of the original in February 1964.

A president's standing after his first six months in office signals how much political juice he'll have for the next six months.

For Obama, the timing of his slide in ratings is particularly unhelpful: He's intensified his push to pass health care bills in the House and Senate before Congress leaves on its August recess. His overall approval rating has dropped 9 percentage points since his inauguration in January, and his disapproval rate has jumped 16 points, to 41%.

The Army has revoked the deployment orders for a soldier who said he shouldn't have to go to Afghanistan because (he believes) Barack Obama was never eligible to be president.

Orly Taitz, the lawyer in Keyes' case, is also representing a soldier who refuses to acknowledge Obama as his president. U.S. Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook has argued that he shouldn't have to go to Afghanistan because the man sending him there isn't really president.

A U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida scheduled to report for deployment to Afghanistan within days has had his military orders revoked after arguing he should not be required to serve under a president who has not proven his eligibility for office.

Cook said without a legitimate president as commander-in-chief, members of the U.S. military in overseas actions could be determined to be "war criminals and subject to prosecution." He said the vast array of information about Obama that is not available to the public confirms to him "something is amiss."

Just absorb the zeroes for a moment. The US has already spent more than a trillion dollars than it expects to receive this year in revenue, and we have almost three full months left to go.

The Wall Street Journal wonders whether that will hinder Barack Obama in getting his big-government spending plans through Congress, and whether Congress has the will to address runaway deficits at all:

Here's a story tailor-made to burn up the Internet: A soldier is objecting to his deployment to Iraq because he believes President Obama wasn't born in the United States.

Among the doubters is conservative politician Alan Keyes, who has taken the question of the president's birth to court. Keyes believes Mr. Obama is not a "natural born citizen" and is thus ineligible for the presidency under the Constitution.

The Real Revo

Obama Administration Chief Science adviser and uber-moonbat John Holdren has been featured on the Revo before... December 20, 2008: Obama Appoints Political Hack as Science Advisor.

Every American should know and understand the deep sickness that is permeating this White House. The Chief Science adviser to the President of the United States has advocated practices in eugenics and social engineering that is absolutely, positively on par with the scientific practices of the Nazis. It is pure objective evil and it is at the highest reaches of our government.

Last week, we discovered that the state of California will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

With California mired in a budget crisis, largely the result of a political impasse that makes spending cuts and tax increases impossible, Controller John Chiang said the state planned to issue $3.3 billion in IOU's in July alone. Instead of cash, those who do business with California will get slips of paper.
