In its update on the coming student loan interest rate hike deal in Congress, Politico dances its blame-the-GOP tap dance once again, saying that the coming rate hike is all just "politics."

But somehow Politico forgets to note that this interest rate problem is of the Democrats' own making. Reporting that Congress has signed off on a bipartisan deal to halt the scheduled interest rate increase on millions of student loans, Politico takes a paragraph to "explain" what the hold up was.

Once again the left-wing media edits a video to misrepresent what a Republican is saying to make him look like an idiot.

This time, MSNBC and Andrea Mitchell edited the context right out of a June 18 video of Mitt Romney talking about eastern U.S. chain restaurant Wawa's in order to make it seem as if he was out of touch with reg'lr Americans. Mitchell likened her heavily edited video to President George H.W. Bush's "grocery scanner moment." During the president's 1992 re-election campaign, he was portrayed by the Old Media as never having seen a price scanner at a grocery store (though this characterization was untrue).

Newark, New Jersey Mayor Corey Booker is apparently now washed up.

He went from being one of the most prominent up-and-coming black Democrats to being on the outside looking in merely because he said something that diverges from Obama's war on capitalism. Now even NBC is kicking him out of its Meet The Press studios. Yep, ol' Corey is finished. Only two weeks after Mr. Booker demurred from attacking Mitt Romney, Bain Capitol, venture capitalists, private equity -- heck, even capitalism in general -- NBC has replaced Booker with another black politician that will better pay fealty to Obama's campaign for a second term, one that is based on a war on capitalism.

Curiously, an Atlantic article that points out Old Media was "late to report" on John Edwards' extramarital affairs and corruption makes its own strange omission from the story.

Somehow, blogger Hampton Dellinger forgets to mention even once that Edwards was, indeed, a Democrat. Yet five times the piece mentions Republicans in order to cast aspersions on the Grand Old Party. This one can be chalked up to one of our favorite games, the "name that party" game, where one can read an entire story about a troubled or criminal politician without once being told that the subject is a Democrat.

Last week we all got a great lesson in how the left promotes a lie to make Republicans the enemy and this time President Obama was a chief participant.

This is how the game is played: the left-leaning media establishment makes a claim about how rotten Republicans are and Obama then echoes the claim and presents it as the true state of Republican opposition to his policies. The result is that we have a partisan opinion foisted on the public as truth about how mean the GOP is to this poor, well-meaning president. A false media narrative is established by the partisan press, politician adds said meme to a policy speech, presto-chango, a political "fact" is born. But it's all just a partisan hit job masquerading as fact.

I have to say, at this point I am convinced that no one on the left really hates racism. In fact, they love it as it is their most important tool with which to control gullible voters.

Cry racism and their mind-numbed acolytes dutifully echo the charge whether it is true or not - and it's usually not. Well, they've done it again, cast the race card at conservatives. But this time they fell into a trap laid for them purposefully, set in order to prove their hatemongering, stupidity, cynicism, and lies.

I suppose we couldn't get past the one-year anniversary of the crime against Democrat Representative Gabrielle Giffords without some Old Media outlet blaming the supposed "heated" political rhetoric of the day for her shooting.

On Sunday we saw NPR doing just that. The fact is, no matter how many times they say it, politics and the "heated rhetoric" thereof had absolutely nothing at all to do with Giffords' shooting. The linking of the crime to politics is just not legitimate.

The Washington Post's Aaron Blake posted an infographic that was a perfect example of how one can use a graphic chart to influence the public in subtle ways, ways that we of the center right better start employing in our own efforts.

Blake's post, "Why People Hate Congress," fits in well with President Obama's class warfare rhetoric as employed by his campaign to set different economic classes against each other in a desperate and cynically populist bid to get reelected next year. There is little of substance to Blake's post other than to fan the flames of the sort of hatred that he wants to see grow in order to aid Obama in 2012. The Post's Blake also ended up having to pull the graphic off his The Fix blog post because it simply did not illustrate what he claimed it did in his story - but that is another issue that we'll deal with at the end of this report.

One of the Old Media's favorite ways of attempting to hide the ideological track of a story is to somehow forget to mention which party someone in the news hails or to whom they owe their fealty. In this case, it is what they don't report that misleads.

This week we find a classic what-they-don't-say story concerning the judge that blocked sections of South Carolina's new immigration law. For those unaware, U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel temporarily blocked segments of South Carolina's new immigration laws because he claimed that some of its provisions impinged on federal prerogatives, things over which the state has no jurisdiction. The South Carolina law was opposed in court by Obama's left-wing, activist Department of Justice headed by Eric "Fast And Furious" Holder and a gaggle of civil rights groups.

This past weekend the Washington Post published a hit piece on the grand opening of a museum in Georgia dedicated to the birthplace of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

The paper was desperate to make some grand conspiracy, some lawbreaking evil out of the project. But whatever is going on with the museum, this story was just one more shot orchestrated by the left aimed at forcing Justice Thomas to recuse himself from the upcoming hearings on whether or not Obamacare is Constitutional. Of course, this is all a smoke screen to hide the fact that it is really left-wing darling Justice Elana Kagan that should recuse herself from the case.
