We're all aware that Sarah Palin is a lightning rod for non-controversy and faux-criticism from those actively looking to destroy her.

Whenever she misuses a phrase or gets minor facts wrong about something inconsequential, the media gets out their tweezers to nitpick away at it, whether they're trying to simply make her look dumb, or accuse her of murder. You know, whatever works. The latest non-story served up for our distraction from the real issues facing this country stems from Palin's Friday visit to Boston's historic Old North Church. In some off-the-cuff remarks, Palin made a statement regarding Paul Revere's famous "Midnight Ride."

Ain't it just grand to see the Obama administration pick a fight with a well-respected (but still quite liberal) reporter?

This bunch of petty tyrants in the White House is looking more like who they really are with each passing day. The question is when most of America will realize it. The answer to that probably has something to do with when the media starts telling the truth. Picking a fight with Bob Woodward seems like an especially stupid move for an administration which relies on the media hiding the administration's true nature, but par for the course for a government filled with bullies.

Veteran journalist Bob Woodward, half of The Washington Post's famous Watergate team, says he received a threatening email from a senior White House aide.

In his "Behind the Curtain" column, Woodward, a prolific political author, said Gene Sperling, economic adviser to President Obama, messaged him that he would "regret" questioning the administration's version on how the forced federal spending cuts known as sequestration came about. The $85 billion in across-the-board federal budget cuts go into effect over the next few months if an agreement is not reached by Friday. Woodward said in his 2012 best-selling book "The Price of Politics" that the idea for the sequester began in the White House, something the president denied and that the White House later acknowledged.

Since the Sandy Hook school shooting, conspiracy theories have abounded in the absence of an official story that answers everyone's questions.

Law enforcement from outside of Sandy Hook cuffed and detained in the woods, fleeing the scene, two very different sets of AR15 magazines found (half tactically reloaded, the other half emptied completely), and how did such a light weight as Adam Lanza have carried so much ammunition and fired so many rounds, in such a short period of time... these are amongst the most notorious questions asked by conspiracy theorists. But just as the questions began to lose momentum, now a move to silence those demolishing the crime scene has reignited the debate over "what really happened."

Over at TechDirt, Mike Masnick has a copy of what is said to be a draft of the administration's Executive Order on cybersecurity.

As many know, the Senate failed to pass cybersecurity legislation in their last session, and because of the election, it is assumed that this legislation is dead for this Congress. Cybersecurity has been one of the Obama administration's top priorities, and as with other priorities that have stalled in the gridlocked Congress, it appears that the administration is trying to accomplish by Executive Order what it did not get in Congress. One thing that is immediately striking about the leaked draft Order is how bland it is. I believe there are a number of reasons for this. The primary reason is that Executive Orders are a fairly limited tool: the executive branch can only take action in areas, and with agencies, where Congress has ceded its power to the executive branch. Sound very civics 101? Here's what it means...

Barack Obama has done the United States a great, though unforeseen, favor.

He has brought to light, as no one else could, many of the pernicious assumptions of our culture from the last half-century. He turned theory and "what ifs" into fact for all America to see, experience, and, yes, suffer through. The Years of Wandering...

The president just concluded a frenzied "jobs" bus tour to explain why unemployment is at 9.1% - after borrowing nearly $5 trillion in stimulus the last three years.

You know the usual suspects responsible for our, not his, malaise: George Bush did it; the Republican obstructionists in the Congress who were wary of approving another $2 trillion in debt did it; the Tea Party did it; Standard and Poor's did it; the Japanese earthquake did it; the Japanese tsunami and nuclear accidents did it; the Middle East unrest did it; the European debt crisis did it; new technology like ATM machines did it. Obama has cited these culprits and many more - though never either himself or his advisors who took a weak recovery and turned it into a near recession.

Global approval of U.S. President Obama's policies has fallen significantly since he first took office, a Pew Research Center poll released Wednesday indicated.

Besides the slippage in global approval, overall confidence in Obama and attitudes toward the United States dipped, results indicated. Europeans and the Japanese remain largely confident in Obama, although somewhat less so than in 2009, while Muslim nations remain largely critical, Pew said. Obama's figures track a similar pattern for overall global ratings for the United States, researchers said. In the European Union and Japan, views remain positive, but the United States is unpopular in nations such as Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and Pakistan.

Scientists call on the World Health Organization International Agency for Research on Cancer to re-evaluate the carcinogenicity of cell phone radiation after the Ramazzini Institute and US government studies report finding the same unusual cancers

Researchers with the renowned Ramazzini Institute (RI) in Italy announce that a large-scale lifetime study of lab animals exposed to environmental levels of cell tower radiation developed cancer. A $25 million study of much higher levels of cell phone radiofrequency (RF) radiation, from the US National Toxicology Program (NTP), has also reported finding the same unusual cancer called Schwannoma of the heart in male rats treated at the highest dose. In addition, the RI study of cell tower radiation also found increases in malignant brain (glial) tumors in female rats and precancerous conditions including Schwann cells hyperplasia in both male and female rats.
