California already has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation and if the state's extremist Democrats get their way, they are going to make those laws even harder on law abiding citizens.

Democrats are sending several new, highly restrictive laws to Governor Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown in hopes of further limiting Californian's Second Amendment rights. As Bloomberg News reports, the new laws would "outlaw semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines, ban adapters to convert magazines to high-capacity clips, order safety certification to buy any gun and require ownership records for all firearms."

It seems like every day this president is looking to grab more power for himself. This time he's attempting to take on the power to take over all communications in the country in the case of an emergency.

Now, one assumes that by "emergency" Obama means "threats to his power," but there you have it. According to Marilyn Daly of Examiner.com, Obama signed an executive order expecting to give the Department of Homeland Security the power to shut everything down just when you'd think that we as citizens would need information the most; during a crisis. The EO is titled the Assignment of National Security Emergency Preparedness Communications Function.

In 2010 a federal immigration judge awarded political asylum to a family whose German government was persecuting for having the temerity to homeschool their children.

Now, three years later, the Obama administration seems poised to reverse that decision and deport the family back to Germany. Uwe Romeike, his wife, and children were told that they could stay as legal residents in Morrisstown, Tennessee, when the family moved there in 2008 after being threatened by German authorities because they homeschooled their children instead of sending them to government schools. In 2010, Mr. Romeike told reporters that, "I think it's important for parents to have the freedom to choose the way their children can be taught." German authorities felt differently, though. The Romeikes were threatened with jail in the homeland unless they ceased homeschooling and turned their children over to the state.

In an appearance on Fox News, former Bush White House Press Secretary Dana Perino noted that when the Bush team tried to push back against Bob Woodward's reporting, it "failed miserably" because the media rallied behind the iconic journalist.

Yet now, after harsh words about Obama, Woodward is being treated like a pariah by that same media. With Bob Woodward in the news over his report that someone in the Obama administration threatened that he'd "regret" writing so harshly about the President, Fox News talked about how the Bush administration dealt with the famed Washington Post reporter.

President Obama's State of the Union speech was yet another opportunity to demand a new laundry list of big government programs and massive spending, but MSNBC's Chris Matthews seemed to have some trouble seeing anything "liberal" in it.

As he analyzed the speech during his February 13 broadcast, Matthews told Chuck Todd that he truly couldn't see any overtly leftist. "There's nothing lefty in here. What's the left-wing part? Objectively, was there a left wing piece to this speech last night? I mean, truly left? I didn't see it," he said. Still, even in his denial a bit of truth broke through Matthews' partisanship: "I mean, basically, he was moving the ball maybe one foot to the left of the midfield."

Ahead of the President's State of the Union speech, taxpayer funded National Public Radio (NPR) tried to help the White House push the false notion that the sequestration budget cuts was conceived by Republicans.

The fact is, sequestration was invented by President Obama and pushed by Harry Reid and House Democrats, not Republicans. It is certainly true that the GOP agreed to the plan, but they did not "invent" sequestration. Even often left-leaning "fact checker" PolitiFact noted that Obama was the one that invented the sequestration budget conceit and rated "mostly false" any claim to the contrary.

A top assistant to Daniel Coronell, Univision's VP of news, took to Facebook to attack Senator Marco Rubio (R, FL) after Rubio spokesman Alex Burgos announced that the Senator was going to give the Republican reply to Obama's upcoming State of the Union.

After Burgos announced that Senator Rubio would give the first bi-lingual GOP response, top Univision Angelica Artiles called Rubio a "loser." "Oh. wow, the loser is going to speak after our President," Artiles posted to Facebook on Wednesday, February 6. "Anything to get publicity. Ask him to do us a favor and stay home that night," she poked. According to Miami Herald blogger Marc Caputo, this anti-Rubio sentiment is the "prevailing political feeling among Univision's higher ups at its Doral headquarters."

Koch Industries recently published a response to the work of UK Independent journalist Steve Connor, whose work, Koch says, "misled readers." The two articles accused Koch Industries of secretly funding attacks on climate change.

The articles written by Connor "got many facts about Koch wrong," according to the open letter published on the company's website. Koch was also unhappy that the British newspaper edited down its letter to the paper without their knowledge, "censoring key information and important context." The accusatory pieces were titled "Exclusive: Billionaires secretly fund attacks on climate science" and "Top climate scientist denounces billionaires over funding for climate-sceptic organisations," published on January 24 and 25 respectively. Koch's open letter pointedly said that the articles were "predictable in repeating tired and debunked partisan accusations" about their company and said journalist Connor essentially started with a premise and went on to "prove" his claims, "offering readers just one side of the story."

The decision over whether or not to charge NBC's David Gregory for allegedly breaking Washington D.C.'s strict gun-banning laws on a December 23 broadcast of Meet the Press is now in the hands of the D.C. Attorney General, authorities reported Tuesday.

The D.C. Police kicked the case upstairs, pushing the investigation into a new phase. Chief Cathy Lanier released an email that said, in part, that her department had "completed the investigation into this matter, and the case has been presented to the OAG for a determination of the prosecutorial merit of the case." The case is now in the hands of Attorney General Irvin B. Nathan, who's office oversees prosecutions of "low-level offenses." A spokesman for the office said they would not comment until their decision had been made.

A New Hampshire legislator wants her constituents to know that she feels conservatives are the "single biggest threat" her state faces today, and she wants to use her powers to legislate to "pass measures that will restrict" the freedoms of conservatives.

In a blog post made last month on the left-wing site Blue Hampshire, 3rd District State Representative Democrat Cynthia Chase advised her fellow legislators to use their positions to make New Hampshire less welcoming to any conservative or libertarian planning on moving to her state-not to mention those already in residence. For those unaware, a conservative project of sorts has been underway in New Hampshire since 2001. The idea is that Americans of conservative ideals are to move to New Hampshire, gather in communities, run for office, and work to drive the state toward libertarianism and conservatism. It is called the "Free State Project" and adherents are called "Free Staters."
