A short time ago while addressing a CEO roundtable and Business Forum in Tanzania, President Barack H. Obama, told reporters and attendees that today's Tea Party members in the United States very closely fit the U.S. government's profile for domestic terrorists. The President's response came after a Tanzania businessman asked if civil unrest in the U.S. is likely to affect doing business with American companies. The President and First Lady are in Tanzania as part of their tour of South Africa. The President and First Lady attended a tree planting ceremony with President Kikwete earlier and are scheduled to have dinner with the South African President of the United Republic of Tanzania later at the State House, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

Ecuador has ramped up its defiance of the US over Edward Snowden by waiving preferential trade rights with Washington even as the whistleblower's prospect of reaching Quito dimmed.

President Rafael Correa's government said on Thursday it was renouncing the Andean Trade Preference Act to thwart US "blackmail" of Ecuador in the former NSA contractor's asylum request. Officials, speaking at an early morning press conference, also offered a $23m donation for human rights training in the US, a brash riposte to recent US criticism of Ecuador's own human rights record.

A man who says all he wanted was some public information instead got a visit from a Middle Tennessee sheriff. And he says the sheriff is going through great lengths to cover up alleged misconduct at the Marshall County jail.

Alex Friedmann, editor for the Prison Legal News, has been working on a piece about complaints coming out of the jail. He's now suing Sheriff Normal Dalton for refusing to release public records of alleged questionable practices in the prison system. "It included policies regarding medical care for inmates, the contract with the jail to provide phone calls to inmates, the grievance procedure process for inmates who complain," Friedmann said. Not only did the sheriff's office deny him those requests, but Dalton admitted on the witness stand to ordering background checks on Friedmann, calling the Department of Homeland Security and even going to Friedmann's house.

The Fourth of July is about celebrating our freedoms as Americans, but one man says his rights were violated when he was charged with interfering with sheriff's deputies.

Cellphone video shows the encounter with deputies that put 28-year old Haley in jail. "Sir, I'm in public. I'm not committing any type of crime," Haley says to deputies as they approach and ask for his ID several times. He says after he refused, the phone was taken from him, but it still managed to record sound from the arrest. You can hear Haley ask, "What am I being arrested for?" The deputies reply, "We're sheriff's deputies, and we were conducting an investigation, and you refused to give your ID. That's against the law here."

Edward Snowden, the hacker who gained access to every secret corner of the Internet during his tenure at the NSA, has come forward with details of a classified project to alter the world's climate.

The shocking truth, as he says, is that chemtrails are part of a benevolent program aimed at countering global warming. By cooperating in secret with jet fuel manufacturers, government agents have carefully kept the massive chemtrail efforts completely under wraps.
