Big Pharma Criminality no Longer a Conspiracy Theory: Bribery, Fraud, Price Fixing now a matter of public record

Those of us who have long been describing the pharmaceutical industry as a "criminal racket" over the last few years have been wholly vindicated by recent news.

Drug and vaccine manufacturer Merck was caught red-handed by two of its own scientists faking vaccine efficacy data by spiking blood samples with animal antibodies. GlaxoSmithKline has just been fined a whopping $3 billion for bribing doctors, lying to the FDA, hiding clinical trial data and fraudulent marketing. Pfizer, meanwhile has been sued by the nation's pharmacy retailers for what is alleged as an "overarching anticompetitive scheme" to keep generic cholesterol drugs off the market and thereby boost its own profits. The picture that's emerging is one of a criminal drug industry that has turned to mafia tactics in the absence of any real science that would prove their products to be safe or effective. The emergence of this extraordinary evidence of bribery, scientific fraud, lying to regulators and monopolistic practices that harm consumers is also making all those doctors and "skeptics" who defended Big Pharma and vaccines eat their words.

Government Orders YouTube To Censor Protest Videos

In a frightening example of how the state is tightening its grip around the free Internet, it has emerged that You Tube is complying with thousands of requests from governments to censor and remove videos that show protests and other examples of citizens simply asserting their rights, while also deleting search terms by government mandate. The latest example is You Tube's compliance with a request from the British government to censor footage of the British Constitution Group Lawful Rebellion protest, during which they attempted to civilly arrest Judge Michael Peake at Birkenhead county court.

I don't know if you're all getting this through your heads yet, but Senate Bill 1867 -the National Defense Authorization Act- would openly "legalize" the U.S. government's detainment and murder of OWS protesters and the assassination of talk show hosts, bloggers, journalists and anyone who holds a so-called "anti-government" point of view.

EU lawmakers throw out GMO compromise law

EU lawmakers on Wednesday rejected by a huge majority a hard-won compromise which would have allowed EU member states to decide for themselves whether or not to import Genetically Modified Organisms for use in food and animal feed.

Parliament voted 557 to 75 against a law which took the European Commission years to negotiate amid deep suspicions about the possible health and safety implications of GMO products. The outcome, however, turned on a matter of principle -- allowing member states to ban GMO products would mean erecting barriers within the EU's most cherished achievement, its single market of more than 500 million people.

Clay County Sheriff charged with wiretapping

According to the office of U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin, Sheriff Miles J. "Mike" Slack has been charged with illegal wiretapping, a federal felony that can carry up to five years in prison.

The charges were filed Monday afternoon, according to Goodwin. Sheriff Slack was charged in a court filing known as an "information" which would typically indicate that the defendant is cooperating with prosecutors. A release from Goodwin's office states that Sheriff Slack compromised a Supreme Court computer that was mainly used by Slack's then wife. She is being referred to as "Victim L.S.".

When developing sites, an easy way to keep things private is to use .htaccess to restrict access based on IP address.

To keep your site private during development or maintenance, the following slice of .htaccess works magic. This denies access to everyone except IP address 123.456.789, so edit that with your own and add the code to your site's root .htaccess file. Then, to allow for other IP's, such as that of your mobile ISP, you simply add another "Allow" condition, like so...

With this snippet you can create a page template restricted only to those users with the right role to access to it.

You will need to create the include, in this case error.php - this include should contain the message you wish to show. If it is not the user it is intended for your error.php might say: "Sorry my friend, the force is not strong enough with you!".
