So says Whoopi (with Hasselbeck in agreement) because, after all, long lines at security checkpoints could theoretically "cripple air traffic."

I suppose that's true, but of course crippling industries via organized strikes is also a cherished tactic of unions - and somehow I can't imagine our panel here reaching quite the same heights of dudgeon in that case. I thought National Opt Out Day was stupid, but it was a perfectly legal means of protest. Some air travelers wanted TSA to change its behavior so they tried to inflict a little economic and bureaucratic pain. If the flight attendants walked out over a wage dispute, I might be annoyed but my mind wouldn't leap to an Al Qaeda analogy.

Students in Virginia may want to think twice about texting in class. Cuccinelli's opinion lacks the legal force of a court ruling and his past opinions have been challenged before.

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, a Republican, issued a legal opinion Wednesday ruling that not only can school officials seize students' cell phones and laptops, but they can also read their text messages if there is "reasonable grounds for suspecting that the search will turn up evidence that the student has violated or is violating either the law or the rules of the school."

We know that government hiring procedures insure that a high number of morons are on the federal workforce. Apparently the morons at TSA don't realize that when their job requires them to be offensive that people will actually become offended.

They want to be protected from the consequences of their actions, using the same defense as those who were tried at Nuremberg. Here's my advice to those TSA workers who don't want to be called dirty names by their fellow citizens... If your job requires you to violate the Rights of free citizens and you don't want to be addressed in a manner that is appropriate for someone engaged in such behavior that requires you to trade your self-respect for a paycheck... QUIT.

There seems to be a growing revolt among the traveling populace against the new TSA full-body scanners-which examine the naked figure for contraband-and the invasive "pat-downs" administered to those bold, or foolhardy, enough to decline the scanner. I am in full sympathy with people who are horrified by either prospect, and am intrigued by the extent to which discontent and civil disobedience is spreading across the landscape. The problem, of course, is that travel security arrangements present a paradox. The overwhelming majority of travelers in American airports are not terrorists, and present nothing that should arouse official suspicion. But everyone agrees that security measures, in this day and age, are necessary-and perhaps, someday, a suicide bomber will be apprehended who is not a young Muslim male. Finding a happy medium in these precincts, balancing liberty with security, is never easy.

Yeah, he really said that, which caught Hannity completely off guard. What he was really talking about was going through the airport scanners.

Michael Roberts, a pilot who is now suing Homeland Security decided to forgo the airport scanners and the fully body 'love pats' and took the third option of going home, which is where he's been every since. He says that he's always gone through the metal detector, but this is going way too far. A point that Hannity made which I find interesting is that the logic fails on scanning and searching pilots because they can ultimately crash the plane anyway. There's no procedure in the world that can prevent that and it just shows how ludicrous these measures have become.

The San Mateo district attorney's office has a warning for all TSA personnel at SFO -- anyone inappropriately touching a passenger during a security pat down will be prosecuted.

Incoming San Mateo DA Steve Wagstaffe says any complaints of inappropriate touching during an airport security pat down will land on his desk. "The case would be reviewed and if we could prove the elements of it, that it was inappropriately done with a sexual or lewd intent, that person would be prosecuted," he said. The charge -- sexual battery.

The only people who do remember it are the thousands who lost their jobs due to the Obama Administration's over reaction. Hell, the fish don't even remember it.

The catastrophists were wrong (again) about the Deep Water Horizon oil spill. There have been no major fish die-offs. On the contrary, a comprehensive new study says that in some of the most heavily fished areas of the Gulf of Mexico, various forms of sea life, from shrimp to sharks, have seen their populations triple since before the spill. Some species, including shrimp and croaker, did even better. And meanwhile, the media has greatly exaggerated damage found in studies about coral, which is in some ways more vulnerable to oil and dispersant. Most of it is doing fine.
