The federal government is now accepting construction bids for the National Security Agency's intelligence-gathering center in Utah, according to a report by Business Week.

The self-contained data center will have its own water supply, sewer system and backup power system. The facility will also feature "anti-terrorism" defenses, as well as be protected by security rings on a 200-acre parcel at a Utah National Guard camp about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City. The Corps of Engineers is supervising construction on behalf of the NSA, which has declined to disclose the full purpose or function of the data center for security purposes.

We have decided we are no longer willing to continue censoring our results on Google.cn...

...and so over the next few weeks we will be discussing with the Chinese government the basis on which we could operate an unfiltered search engine within the law, if at all. We recognize that this may well mean having to shut down Google.cn, and potentially our offices in China.

How do you shed 85,000 jobs without increasing unemployment?

Obama's first year in office has been disastrous year for U.S. workers. Employers cut 4.2 million jobs since he took office, almost all of them since the massive stimulus bill was passed. The unemployment rate averaged 9.3 percent. That's compared with an average of 5.8 percent in 2008 and 4.6 percent in 2007.

Ariel Civelek was just a baby in the last U.S. Census, but this time around, the 11-year-old can tell her family how important it is to be counted.

Recognizing the power of getting the message out through the schools, the U.S. Census Bureau on Wednesday launched its 2010 Census in Schools program. The idea is for teachers to integrate census-related information into subjects like social studies and math.

A look into the sickening world of law enforcement. Proof That Cops Are The Most Dangerous People in Our Society!

Any bailiff that would do this is the same caliber as any 9/11terrorist. Who do these vermin badges think they're fooling? Do they think they are above the law? Cops are on complete power trips. Were they bullied as kids and now feel the need to exercise authority on anything they can to appease their superiority complex? These assholes should be jailed and treated as criminals at least the same as citizens would be if they committed the same crime, not less. They should also be held to a higher standard and a wall behind the court house erected. When a cop is found guilty of a crime or pulls shit like this, he should be put up against that wall. A group of his coworkers are to pull their weapons and shoot him dead. If any of them miss they should be put against the wall as well.

A child advocacy group out of New York, called Children's Rights, sued the Oklahoma Department of Human Services saying the state's foster care system is broken.

A social work expert studied DHS's foster care system and found that the harm is extremely high for every child in DHS custody. A report by a senior consultant from the National Resource Center of Family-Centered Practice and Permanency Planning reviewed the lawsuit and said, "When attempting to describe the children's harm and suffering, the words that come to mind are incomprehensible, unimaginable, outrageous and immoral."
