INDIANAPOLIS -- Sixth-grader Matt Porter didn't enjoy getting "Most Likely Not To Have Children" and "Sir Clowns-a-Lot" awards from two teachers at his school.

Matt said he received the awards in front of classmates during a ceremony at the Decatur Intermediate Learning Center at the end of the recently finished school year.

Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell said today that Pennsylvania's job outlook remained strong in April.

Thanks to a targeted workforce and economic investment strategies that helped the state post its second-highest job count1 of 5,796,400. Data released today shows Pennsylvania has added 46,900 jobs since April 2006 and a net gain of 168,200 jobs since January 2003.

Texas Republican Congressman Ron Paul has filed a bill that would legalize hemp farming in the United States. This marks the second time Rep. Paul has filed this bill, but it went nowhere in the last Congress.

The bill, HR 1009, would allow domestic hemp manufacturers to buy their hemp from American producers. Currently, US law bars the production of industrial hemp, and American manufacturers have to import their hemp from other countries.

A lawsuit was filed Tuesday in response to the accidental release of Social Security numbers and other personal data belonging to more than 1,700 former public school employees.

Former teacher Mark Cohen is seeking class action status for his lawsuit against Chicago Public Schools. His suit alleges that the mistake violated state law and privacy rights.

Google has opened its temporary offices. The company is looking to hire 1,000 employees, company officials said.

Google's AdWords operation will temporary operate out of an office on South Main Street in Ann Arbor. Google has 20 employees to start in Ann Arbor, but that number is expected to grow to more than 1,000. The average pay for seven different jobs will be $47,000 per year.

The Home Depot Inc., the nation's largest home improvement store chain, says it is hiring more than 1,000 new employees across the country as part of its latest effort to improve its stores.

The Atlanta-based company said in a hiring advisory it issued Monday that it is seeking in particular applicants with specialty, skilled trades and professional contracting backgrounds for full-time and part-time jobs in numerous departments.
