A woman charged with performing sexual acts involving two pets and forcing a 6-year-old-boy to perform sex acts on her is back at work as a deputy director at the Centers for Disease Control.

Kimberly Quinlan Lindsey, 44, is the deputy director of the CDC's Laboratory Science, Policy and Practice Program Office (LSPPPO). She is charged with multiple counts of child molestation and one count of bestiality, according to CBS affiliate WGCL in Atlanta. Lindsey was arrested October 10 following a six-week investigation by the DeKalb County police. Police say they unearthed evidence that a 6-year-old boy was involved in sex acts with Lindsey and her boyfriend Thomas Westerman, a fellow CDC employee who is also charged in the case. The child molestation allegedly took place between January and August of 2010 at Lindsey's home in Decatur, Ga.

Citigroup's better-than-anticipated quarterly results came just after the bank announced a $7 billion settlement over a mortgage securities probe tied to the financial crisis, driving the stock higher at the market open.

Citigroup has agreed to pay $7 billion as part of a landmark Justice Department settlement for its role in the sale of risky, mortgage-based securities in the run-up to the financial crisis, Attorney General Eric Holder announced Monday. The agreement includes $4 billion which Holder said was a "record" civil penalty of its kind and "appropriate given the strength of the evidence of the wrongdoing committed by Citi." The company will pay $500 million to state attorneys general and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. The remaining $2.5 billion will go to help consumers struggling with mortgages and other problems from the 2007-2009 financial crisis.

At least 80 percent of all audio calls are gathered and stored by the NSA, whistleblower William Binney has revealed. The former code-breaker says the spy agency's ultimate aim is no less than total population control.

The National Security Agency lies about what it stores, said William Binney, one of the highest profile whistleblowers to ever emerge from the NSA, at a conference in London organized by the Center for Investigative Journalism on July 5. Binney left the agency shortly after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center because he was disgusted at the organizations move towards public surveillance. "At least 80 percent of fiber-optic cables globally go via the US," Binney said. "This is no accident and allows the US to view all communication coming in. At least 80 percent of all audio calls, not just metadata, are recorded and stored in the US. The NSA lies about what it stores."

The most important personality trait of becoming a good leader might not be what you think.

The prototypical leader is a hero: gives the rousing speech, inspires the troops, and shows up at the last minute to save the day. At least that's how leaders are portrayed. but that's not at all what Google discovered as their most important qualities. At Google, they're obsessive about looking at data to determine what makes employees successful and what they found in the numbers was surprising. The most important character trait of a leader is one that you're more likely to associate with a dull person than a dynamic leader: predictability. The more predictable you are, day after day, the better.

Critics are pointing out a new possible power grab by the Environmental Protection Agency, which has reportedly claimed it has the power to garnish the wages of those who owe fines for environmental violations.

Judge Andrew Napolitano said on Fox and Friends this morning this is illegal and "blatantly violates the Constitution." The judge said the EPA has repeatedly tried to give itself more authority and this is only the latest example. He explained that it can be stopped with a bill by the House and Senate, and added that President Obama would not be able to veto it. Napolitano believes even Democrats would get on board with blocking the EPA from garnishing wages.

It did not take long after Target announced a new gun policy that asks gun owners to leave their guns at home for criminals to get the memo.

There were no law abiding gun owners in sight when a man was robbed at gunpoint by 3 armed suspects. The robbery took place at a Gainesville, GA Target parking lot early Tuesday evening. It was just a few days ago that the retail giant announced a new gun policy that asked all gun owners to either leave their guns at home or not come into their stores with any firearms. Before the announcement the store had been simply following local laws regarding guns until Moms Demand Action and other not-so grassroots anti-gun groups started pressuring the chain to ban guns from their establishments.

In 2013, certified consultant meteorologist Joseph D'Aleo was putting together a talk and wanted to show a graph that illustrated how the average temperature of the state of Maine had changed over time.

He went to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) and downloaded the data. As shown in the top graph, the average temperature showed no trend (warming or cooling) for more than 100 years. This year, he was preparing a talk and wanted to update the graph. He went back to NOAA's NCDC and downloaded the exact same temperature record, including more recent years.

This time, CISA is even worse than CISPA. The bill would give the NSA even more authority to access our data and force companies to fork over private data without a search warrant.

CISA is an even more toxic bill than the original CISPA bill. CISA stays in line with the original objective of the CISPA bill to strengthen and legitimize the NSA's surveillance programs. But this time the bill would allow for and encourage sweeping datamining taps on Internet users for the undefined purpose of domestic "cybersecurity". The NSA would be able to share this data with police and other law enforcement agencies for domestic "cybersecurity" purposes - meaning these powers will be used against innocent citizens.

The off-duty officer unloaded 14 shots into a car waiting at a red light.

In the past decade, civil suits against the NYPD have more than doubled, hitting a record high of 9,500 in 2012, according to CBS Local. They've cost taxpayers $1 billion and tend to result from such outstanding police work as making false arrests and shooting people's pets. Now, the city might be on the hook for $90 million thanks to a NYPD officer who allegedly got wasted and started shooting at a stopped car for no apparent reason.

Over the weekend a detailed report in the Washington Post caught the U.S. government in more lies about the scope of it's dragnet surveillance programs.

The Post showed that the NSA intercepted communications from ordinary people 9 times more often than from "targets" suspected of any wrongdoing. People are outraged. And we should be. Any politician that plans to keep their job should be doing everything they can to put an end to these illegal and unethical surveillance practices. Infuriatingly, *tomorrow* the Senate Intelligence Committee is rushing to advance "CISA," a bill that would give the NSA more access to our data than ever before, and give companies like Facebook and Google legal immunity for violating our privacy.
