The Campbell Soup company, which sells SpaghettiOs (along with Goldfish, Pepperidge Farm cookies, V8 juice, and of course, Campbell soups), has called for mandatory federal labeling of foods that contain GM ingredients Mandatory, as opposed to voluntary.

The GMA is developing what they call a "Smart Label" ...a code on food packages that shoppers can hold their smart phones up to and link to a website that reveals whether the food contains GM ingredients. Food companies can participate if they want to. Small wonder that a voluntary system, that doesn't put the information right on the label, is unsatisfactory to GMO opponents, who hope that labels right on the product will frighten people away from buying such foods and kill off the entire technology.

From time to time there is a scare story that the EU has plans to outlaw the British sausage. This immediately leads to a mass outbreak of national indignation and headlines saying "Hands Off Our Banger".

We surely understand, therefore, how the people of Kyrgyzstan felt when a British man, working in their country, was rude on Facebook about their national delicacy, the horsemeat sausage named the chuchuk. Michael McFeat, from Perthshire, was actually arrested under Kyrgyzstan race-hate laws.

A Florida State University study discovered women aged 45 to 65 that ate this ubiquitous food reduced LDL by 23% in six months. The women also lost three and a half pounds on average...

The old adage of an apple a day keeps the doctor away still has some validity. And new research has discovered apple juice three times a week helps prevent Alzheimer's and heart disease. Dr. Thomas Shea, a neurobiologist, and his research team at the University of Massachusetts topped off 10 years of studying apples' effects on brain health. They used test tubes, Petri dishes, and mice for years. Then finally they confirmed their findings with a human clinical trial.

When it comes to foods, superfoods and even nutritional supplements from China, "organic" is largely a hoax. This is my opinion, of course, but I've been researching the issue quite extensively as the key decision maker for new products.

It's a fact: USDA organic standards place NO LIMITS on levels of heavy metals contamination of certified organic foods. Even further, there is no limit on the contamination of PCBs, BPA and other synthetic chemicals that's allowed in certified organic foods, superfoods and supplements.

Do you buy orange juice at the store? If you do, I'm sure you're careful to buy the kind that's 100% juice and not made from concentrate. After all, that's the healthier kind, right? The more natural kind? The kind without any additives?

Haven't you ever wondered why every glass of Tropicana Pure Premium orange juice tastes the same, no matter where in the world you buy it or what time of year you're drinking it in? Or maybe your brand of choice is Minute Maid or Simply Orange or Florida's Natural. Either way, I can ask the same question. Why is the taste and flavor so consistent? Why is it that the Minute Maid never tastes like the Tropicana, but always tastes like its own unique beverage?

At the time, Rachel Parent was 14 years old and had a growing social media following. Her message to label genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food was attracting attention - including from those who promote GMOs in the U.S.

The documents shed light into the increasingly nasty and divisive public relations war over GMOs. "It's mostly scientists that they attack, but Rachel is a standout. The agrichemical industry is plainly quite threatened by this teenage schoolgirl, so that's why they're after her," Gary Ruskin, the co-director of USRTK said.

When it comes to foods, superfoods and even nutritional supplements from China, "organic" is largely a hoax. And I've come to the conclusion that "organic" from China is largely a fraud. Here's why...

First off, you're going to be shocked to learn that there is no limit to how much mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic and aluminum is allowed in "organic" products. It's a fact: USDA organic standards place NO LIMITS on levels of heavy metals contamination of certified organic foods.

Butter is one of the most purchased food products this time of the year when everyone is baking something special for the holidays.

When I first started learning how to bake, if a recipe would call for butter, well, that is what I used. I've never really been a fan of margarine or shortening even if a recipe called for it.

Victories are to be celebrated and for the future of healthy life on our planet we all can celebrate a beautiful victory. The world's largest nation, has formally declared all commercial planting of Genetically Modified Organisms, GMOs, to be prohibited.

The issue has been subject of a heated debate for some months inside Russia. In February 2014, just days prior to the US-orchestrated coup d'etat in Ukraine, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev created a national research project to obtain scientific information so the Government and Duma might make a decision on GMOs in Russia. Now a definitive decision has been made, and it goes against Monsanto and the US-led GMO cartel. We can say Russia's crisis has concentrated minds on the essentials of life.
