Kaiser to pay $9M to settle autism therapy suit

Kaiser Permanente has agreed to pay up to $9 million to settle a class action that alleged the health plan illegally refused to provide behavioral therapy for autistic children before it was mandated by state law.

The lawsuit was filed in Southern California in April 2009 on behalf of Andrew Arce of Los Angeles and others like him. Andrew was 2 years old when Kaiser denied coverage for applied behavioral analysis even though its own doctors said it was medically necessary. The therapy teaches young children with autism and similar disorders how to eat, communicate, play and learn. It's expensive; costs go as high as $100,000 a year and the number of children diagnosed with autism continues to climb. Health plans have balked at paying for the therapy, which they consider educational rather than medical.

Suspicions have been confirmed for those wary of vaccinating their children. A recent large study corroborates other independent study surveys comparing unvaccinated children to vaccinated children.

They all show that vaccinated children have two to five times more childhood diseases, illnesses, and allergies than unvaccinated children. Originally, the recent still ongoing study compared unvaccinated children against a German national health survey conducted by KiGGS involving over 17,000 children up to age 19. This currently ongoing survey study was initiated by classical homoeopathist Andreas Bachmair. However, the American connection for Bachmair's study can be found at VaccineInjury.info website that has added a link for parents of vaccinated children to participate in the study. So far this ongoing survey has well over 11,000 respondents, mostly from the U.S.A. Other studies have surveyed smaller groups of families.

Despite the conviction of the necessity and safety of vaccinations, there are a number of studies coming forward that illustrate the potential dangers they may pose.

A scientific review published by the Department of Paediatric Rehabilitation from the Medical School at the University of Bialystok has determined that there are a number of neurological adverse events that follow vaccination. This research is specific to Polish vaccinations, but is still useful given the fact that many ingredients used and examined in the study are still used in vaccinations all over the world. The University of Bialystok is a well known medical university that has published a tremendous amount of research on various topics. The evidence that's out there supporting the hazards of vaccines is irrefutable. There is a lot of research that medical professionals are not privy to, this is credible research coming out of Universities done by doctors and professors. Medical professionals are usually guided to research done by pharmaceutical companies and the vaccine manufactures themselves. It's important to look at both sides of the coin, and examine all information available before coming to a conclusion.

A new study produced by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) documents that the rotavirus vaccine results in a new variety of rotavirus. The study's authors report that the CDC operates the New Vaccine Surveillance Network that is concerned with acute gastroenteritis in children less than five years of age.

Given the enormous potential for great harm, one has to wonder how the Food and Drug Administration, FDA, gets away with giving its stamp of approval on a new "brain wave test," that allegedly will "help confirm an ADHD diagnosis," when there is no scientific or medical proof that any physical abnormality exists. In fact, the mandate of the FDA demands the opposite of its latest approval action.
