In June, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shocked the medical community by recommending against the use of the live nasal flu vaccine for the upcoming flu season.

The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) based its decision on data from a study of 7,500 individuals who were either administered the live nasal vaccine or the inactivated flu shot. The inactivated flu shot demonstrated a 49 percent effectiveness rate, whereas the live nasal vaccine showed almost no effectiveness at all.

School bells are ringing again across Colorado. As kids head back to school, some parents, who opt not to vaccinate their children, are pushing back against some of the wording in the state's new non-medical immunization exemption form.

That form reads in part: Failure to follow the advice of a physician, registered nurse, physician's assistant or public health official who has recommended vaccines may endanger my child's/my health or life and others who come into contact with my child/me. State Senator Kevin Lundberg, Chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee says, "That (phrasing) amounts to compelled speech." He said the state has no business trying to force parents to agree to something that they don't believe is true.

Remember Texas Senate Bill 538? It was one of 17 bills proposed last session to remove your freedom of medical choice. SB 538 was quite a doozy, though - a bona fide wolf in sheep's clothing.

You see, SB 538 gave the Governor ultimate authority to declare an epidemic of any infectious disease of his or her choosing. The police could then identify risk groups to quarantine, and those identified would be detained in a facility until the situation was deemed safe. If children were isolated as part of the risk group, they could be forcibly taken from their parents, and the State would be assigned as guardian, with full parental rights.

-Understand the implications of new CDC rules, if you want to know where the medical dictatorship is heading. Arbitrary apprehension of citizens, detainment, forced medical treatment, vaccination.

The CDC is doubling down. The agency is on the verge of expanding its power to detain and force medical treatment on anyone. The new proposed CDC regulations are contained in the Federal Register dated August 15, 2016, under the heading, "Control of Communicable Diseases-Notice of Proposed Rulemaking."

This debate is not about vaccines at all. It's about control. No matter how hard we try, we can't make safe happen. We will always have only a small measure of control over the outcome of our kids health.

This debate is not driven by science. It's driven by fear. Don't get me wrong. There's certainly a lot of science involved in the vaccine debate, but what has motivated the fisticuffs over this issue has little to do with science and everything to do with fear. We are afraid of what might happen to our kids to the point of exhaustion. God's peace overcomes our deepest fears if we'll turn to Him for comfort.

At first this headline appears to be good news, indicating that the American Medical Association (AMA) has finally woken up to the medical tyranny of mandatory vaccines.

The Health Ranger reports, "A mandatory vaccination policy - forced vaccination of unwilling recipients - is, by definition, a medical intervention carried out without the consent of the patient or the patient's parents . This directly violates the very clear language in the Informed Consent section of the AMA Code of Medical Ethics which states:

Chalkbeat Colorado, which recently created a database of vaccination rates for schools in the state's 30 largest districts, found that the Boulder Valley School District remains a hot spot for the anti-vaccination movement.

According to Chalkbeat's analysis, more than half of the 15 schools with the highest rates of students exempt from vaccinations are in Boulder Valley. Colorado kindergartners also had the lowest vaccination rates for measles, mumps and rubella in the country - 81.7 percent - in the 2013-14 school year, according to federal data.

When Austin resident Katy Ludlow was pregnant, she remembers how concerned many parents were about vaccinating their children. Actor Jenny McCarthy was speaking openly about her belief that her son's autism was linked to vaccinations and Ludlow grew worri

Eight years later, Ludlow says she's firmly pro-vaccination and has fully vaccinated her daughter, who is now eight. But Ludlow says the debate over vaccinations continues among parents on play dates, where she witnessed a near-fight between two moms with differing opinions on vaccines, and social media platforms like Facebook.

Families sending their children back to schools across California face a new requirement mired in a volatile interplay of religious liberties, individual choice and government efforts to protect the public's health...

They can no longer sidestep vaccination requirements by citing their personal beliefs against immunization. California joins Mississippi and West Virginia as the only states in the nation that ban students from enrolling in public and private schools unless a doctor certifies that a child has a medical condition making vaccination too risky.
