Medical Health News

We have some real problems and they are only going to get worse. We have a right to know what we are eating. People are getting allergies, this isn't normal folks. If we don't pay attention to what's happening, in our food supply, to our farmers, the plants, and ultimately our grocery store we are going to wake up one day and realize we trusted the health of our children and the health of our families to the government. And the government let us down.

And they're not even done yet.

The Health and Human Services Department "was given a billion dollars implementation money," Republican Rep. Denny Rehberg of Montana said. "That money is gone already on additional bureaucrats and IT programs, computerization for the implementation."

In July of this year, a research group, The Frontier Lab, released a revealing study called "Switching Behavior: Modeling Disaffiliation by Republicans from the Label 'Republican.'"

The Frontier Lab study includes both conservative and moderate Republicans, and identified four key events that prompted individuals to "disaffiliate" from the party. One was the rejection of the "lesser of two evils" argument-the argument that voters had to support a bad Republican because the Democratic candidate would invariably be worse. Both conservatives and moderates are tired of the "two evils" argument. . . . A second reason is closely related. Parting conservatives have expressed "loss of hope" in the party, but not just a general loss of hope-loss of hope specifically that by enduring the lesser of two evils tactic over time, the classic promise of that argument would materialize. That is, over time, and after many abuses, these people have lost hope that the party would change or effect change as promised. As director Anne Sorock puts it in the study, these people "often experienced an emotional exhaustion wherein they no longer felt hope that the party would deliver."

During a radio interview recently, the host was shocked when I told him that Christians, generally, can get out of ObamaCare right now if they so choose. Really? How?

Many people are still not aware that health care sharing ministries like the one run by my friends at Samaritan Ministries lobbied and debated with Congress hard during the 2009 fight over ObamaCare. As a result of their efforts, and the nature and track record of the ministry, they earned an exemption from the individual mandate in ObamaCare for members of the sharing ministry.

Can the government just take you property for its purposes? Of course not. The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution requires just compensation at least.

But governments get creative with how they manipulate property owners in regard to their property usage in various banner1ways. A marquee Supreme Court case, building on two previous cases, has just made it even harder for State and local governments to bully property owners. reports, "Nearly unnoticed among the marquee decisions by this year's Supreme Court session is Koontz v. St. John's Water Management District. The decision granted the plaintiff the right to sue a governmental agency that required a payment - or 'exaction' - for public facilities miles away from his property as a contingency for approval of a building permit."

We expect leftists, liberals, and other miscreants to pounce opportunistically, to lie, cheat, and twist (all the while drooling) over a phrase like "legitimate rape" when uttered by a strong conservative Christian politician.

But should we expect the same from alleged conservatives? Yet this is exactly what we've seen from several prominent conservatives in the wake of a media gaffe from U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin (R-MO) in regard to alleged "legitimate rape" and abortion. What could have been quickly and easily handled with a consolidated response correctly interpreting Akin's unfortunate phrase was instead a rare cause of bipartisan hazing.

At the federal level, the functions of the executive branch pertain to both domestic and foreign policy.

I have already explained how I think government in general should be greatly decentralized stateside with a focus on County rights first, then States, then a very limited federal instrument-in other words, true federalism. For this reason, we need not really discuss how we were once free in these regards, for we have already largely described it in so many ways. We have also already covered most of the fall into tyranny in this regard-particularly with welfare, taxation, and the military-so we will reserve comments in this regard to the two most dangerous stateside issues: the abuses of executive orders and administrative law. These will appear in the next section.

A local dairy owner is cheesed over how the Missouri Milk Board ordered 15 tons of cheese destroyed after a 2 1/2-year legal dispute.

Joseph Dixon, owner of Morningland Dairy near Mountain View, Mo., told KYTV he "sees the destruction" of a livelihood his family "worked to build" for years in southern Missouri. On Friday, heavy moving equipment dumped nearly 30,000 pounds of raw cheese into a dumpster headed to a landfill. How the product got there is the dramatic end to a long struggle. Dixon's website tells his side of the story, making some interesting claims as to the behavior and candid comments from the Milk Board inspectors: "Don Falls, our inspector, told us that NO amount of testing would stop our cheese from being 'suspect'."

Admittedly liberal Mediaite exposes the condescension, exaggeration, hypocrisy, and naivete of Brietbart writer Kurt Schlicter's two posts cajoling Ron Paul supporters and "libertarians".

In a two-part column over at Breitbart's Big Government, Kurt Schlichter practically begs libertarians to "support our Constitution" and vote for Mitt Romney this November in order to avoid not only the "destruction of this country" by way of a second Obama term, but also to avoid the destruction of libertarianism by way of the Libertarian Party becoming a pariah. The begging will not work, especially when it comes with the usual platitudinous overtures to America and the Constitution being at stake; and the suggestion that not supporting Romney is to selfishly disregard of the Constitution in the name of ideology. No matter how you dice the logic, a committed Republican accusing libertarians of not supporting the Constitution is nothing short of laughable. . . .

Don Watkins of the Ayn Rand Institute* explains why we may be saddened but should not be shocked by the ObamaCare ruling...

"There's this illusion that I think a lot of people have that we had this private free-market system and then President Obama came along and ruined it all with ObamaCare. That is not at all the truth. The fact is, we've had systematic intervention in the health care system for the last 70 years or so. . . . This is part of this larger growing trend of government intervention."

Steve Deace provides six reasons why "lesser of two evils" voting is wrong for Christians, and then explains why he cannot vote for Mitt Romney.

My own credibility is at stake here. I constantly criticze situational ethics and subjective moral standards. Does Romney now become better because of how bad Obama is? If one of my children lies repeatedly to their mother, do I not hold them accountable because another sibling stabbed her with a butcher knife? What kind of an example is that? If I endorse Romney, do I go on MSNBC and say as a Christian on national television my liar is better than your liar?
