Medical Health News

We have some real problems and they are only going to get worse. We have a right to know what we are eating. People are getting allergies, this isn't normal folks. If we don't pay attention to what's happening, in our food supply, to our farmers, the plants, and ultimately our grocery store we are going to wake up one day and realize we trusted the health of our children and the health of our families to the government. And the government let us down.

Last week a judge told 16 year-old Abraham if he went to the hospital for an xray - he would be free to go to Mexico to see the doctor who's been treating him with an herbal therapy.

Then last night the judge changed his mind -- and threatened to lock Abraham up if he didn't comply with his new decision. "This is craziness. I talked to the judge he agreed with me he was going to do what I wanted to do and all of a sudden at the last minute he changes it all around" says Abraham.

Doctors say teens and young adults sometimes lack insurance in a health care system traditionally divided into pediatrics and adults, or can be incorrectly referred to doctors who don't understand their conditions.

Efforts to target teens came from the fact that survival rates for teens and young adults have remained stagnant even as they have improved for the very young and older adults. Doctors say targeting patients between the age of 15 to about 29 is as much about marketing as medicine. According to the National Childhood Cancer Foundation, about 95 percent of cancer patients younger than 15 are seen by pediatric oncologists, compared to about 20 percent of 15- to 19-year-olds.

Most people think that The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was created to protect the public from harm and to make sure that manufacturers followed the law in developing, testing and marketing their products.

My first realization that the FDA's real mission was not to protect the public from harm but apparently something quite different came in May of 1992 when I read a copy of the FDA's Dietary Supplements Task Force Final Report. FDA personnel concluded, in writing, that the FDA's mission was to remove dietary supplements from the shelves as they represented a "disincentive for patented drug research."

Across the nation, an increasing number of families are having their lives destroyed by the greed and arrogance of conventional medicine and its toxic cancer treatments.

Families are arrested at gunpoint, jailed, prosecuted and separated from their children by Child Protective Services, all due to the demands of arrogant doctors who insist on treating cancer with conventional chemotherapy that's so toxic, it almost kills the patient before killing the cancer cells.

The tax dollar funded mental health screening programs popping up in every corner of the nation represent an enormous gift to Big Pharma from the Bush administration.

After all, drug companies can't push drugs without a lucrative customer base, so the screening programs are a great solution for that little problem. On April 29, 2002, Bush kicked off the whole mental health screening scheme when he announced the establishment of the New Freedom Commission (NFC) during a speech in in New Mexico where he told the audience that mental health centers and hospitals, homeless shelters, and the justice and school systems, have contact with individuals suffering from mental disorders but that too many Americans are falling through the cracks, and so he created the NFC to ensure "that the cracks are closed."

CHINCOTEAGUE -- Three months of chemotherapy last year made Starchild Abraham Cherrix nauseated and so weak that at times the tall, skinny teenager had to be carried by his father because he couldn't walk.

So when Abraham, as he's usually called, learned in February that the cancer was active once again, he balked when doctors recommended another round of the drugs, as well as radiation. "I think it would kill me the second time," said Abraham, who instead turned to a sugar-free organic diet, herbs and visits to a clinic in Mexico to treat his Hodgkin's disease, a cancer of the lymph nodes.

Teen Screen, a program advertised as a "free" psychiatric "service" to prevent suicide, has caused an uprising all across the US.

Citing the dangers of psychiatric drugs and important issues of parental rights, individuals and determined groups have spoken out against TeenScreen as a harmful factor in the attempts to care for the problems of children and teens. TeenScreen's aim is to locate more children that can be identified as mentally ill and routed into "mental health" treatment.

Public trust in conventional medicine has plummeted to such an all-time low that the industry is now resorting to the threat of violence in order to market its services. Gunpoint medicine is alive and well in Seattle, Washington...

Where county law enforcement officers, prompted by Child Protective Services (CPS), arrested and jailed 34-year-old Tina Marie Carlsen for her "crime" of rescuing her infant from overzealous hospital staff who demanded they perform kidney surgery on the infant. Tina Carlsen was jailed for several days, during which she was unable to provide lifesaving mother's milk to her baby (which is crucial for a child's brain and immune system). She has still not been allowed physical contact with her infant son.

SEATTLE - It took an Amber Alert, and a statewide search, but a 9-month old baby is now back at Children's Hospital and a judge has ordered the hospital to go ahead with surgery.

But it's a surgery the mother, Tina Carlsen, so vehemently opposes, she's now in jail as a result. The family feels betrayed while the state says it's doing what's necessary to save a little boy's life. The state calls it "slow motion death" -- that if Riley Rogers doesn't have surgery and then get dialysis, he will die.

Some kids with symptoms of autism may not have the disorder at all. In fact, a lack of sleep may be what's really causing the problem. That's what some scientists are suggesting as Salt Lake's national sleep conference winds to a close.

Lack of concentration, motor restlessness, irritability, excessive impulsiveness, and learning problems. They're symptoms of autism - even attention deficit, and hyperactivity. But do all kids exhibiting these symptoms really have the disorders' National researchers, meeting in Salt Lake this week, believe many may be sleep deprived. If so, they're misdiagnosed and placed on stimulants like Ritalin for the wrong reason.
