We have some real problems and they are only going to get worse. We have a right to know what we are eating. People are getting allergies, this isn't normal folks. If we don't pay attention to what's happening, in our food supply, to our farmers, the plants, and ultimately our grocery store we are going to wake up one day and realize we trusted the health of our children and the health of our families to the government. And the government let us down.

Describing the research that indicates GMOs are harmful to human health and the environment and should be labeled if they are going to be in our food supply. What are GMOs and should I be concerned about them in my food?

GMOs (or "genetically modified organisms") have been created through the gene-splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering, or GE). This science allows DNA material from one species to be injected into another species in a laboratory, creating combinations of plant, animal, bacteria, and viral genes that do not occur in Nature or result from traditional crossbreeding methods. Doing this provides financial benefits to biotechnology companies and large-scale farming corporations. For instance, seeds can be engineered to be insect resistant and/or herbicide tolerant. Produce can be developed that has a longer shelf life or is shaped to facilitate more efficient transportation. Scientists have even tried to introduce a cold-resisting gene from Arctic fish into tomatoes to prevent them from freezing and thus lengthen their growing season. Hand- in-hand with seed patenting, GE seeds can provide agribusiness with massive profits.

The little boy that Bruce Reimer was never had a chance. Underlying his death is a theory that still impacts children across North America: that sexual identity comes from nurture not nature and, so, can be entirely determined by social conditioning.

Behind the scenes, Reimer's mother told Money that Brenda ripped off dresses, rejected dolls, insisted on standing up to urinate, and asked to shave like her father. Nevertheless, Money's 1972 book "Man and Woman, Boy and Girl" declared the experiment to be a success.

The market for unpasteurized milk is growing, but advocates face an array of state and federal rules that make getting it a challenge

While the U.S. has no laws against gulping milk straight from cows, the government's stance on controlling the sale of raw milk is far murkier. The Food and Drug Administration, which recently determined that it's safe to drink the milk of cloned cows, takes a tougher stand on unprocessed milk.

With flu season around the corner and signs for "flu shots" in every store, this is a natural alternative that is inexpensive and effective. It can be made easily at home.

If you or your child has ever had a bad case of the flu, you know how miserable it can be. Especially for moms, it is awful to see your children feeling so bad and not be able to fix it. Black elderberries (sambucus nigra) have been shown to prevent flu and speed recovery in those who have the flu. Elderberries contain high levels of A, B and C and stimulate the immune system. Several natural elderberry syrups are available at health stores or online, but usually for around $15 or more for 4-8 ounces. This recipe makes 16 ounces for a cost of under ten dollars and kids love the taste!

Executive branch agencies make law via regulation with brazen disregard of the Constitution. Can Congress regain its proper role?

The United States Constitution gives "all legislative powers herein granted" to Congress. Neither the judicial nor the executive branch has the power to make laws, only interpret and execute them, respectively - at least in theory. In practice, things are quite different. Not only do executive branch agencies makes laws every day by issuing regulations that have the force of law, they do more lawmaking than Congress - a lot more. In a typical year, Congress will pass between 100 and 200 laws, while regulatory agencies will pass more than 3,500 regulations. In 2011, Congress passed 81 laws while agencies published 3,573 final rules - a difference of a factor of 47.
