Did you see Tuesday's second Presidential debate? It was like a heavyweight championship rematch. And Romney sealed the deal with another knockout performance.

But this time it wasn't Obama's fault. He came ready to rumble. This time it was that damn record that got in Obama's way. Remember the O.J. Simpson case? This time the glove fit. Let me explain. No one has EVER been able to go into the ring with Obama - the heavyweight talker - and "take it to him." Knock him out. Leave him reeling. Leave him shaking and breathless from body blows. Until Mitt Romney. Not just because Mitt is the smartest guy in the room - and he is. But because Obama has never in his career had to run on an actual record.

State to check on residents' health

Washington state health officials will soon start asking detailed questions about the health of some state residents - and even give them brief physical exams.

The door-to-door survey of 1,100 randomly selected households across the state will try to learn more about our health, and especially about our risk for cardiovascular disease and diabetes, to better target preventive educational programs. Participants will be given a $45 gift card for their help in the survey.

Nurses don't have to get flu vaccines

A federal judge in Seattle Thursday agreed that nurses at Virginia Mason Medical Center still won't have to choose between refusing a flu shot or keeping their jobs - even though most of them have chosen to get the shots after all.

U.S. District Court Judge Marsha Pechman ruled that a labor arbitrator had the authority to rule last August that the hospital couldn't force its more than 600 nurses to receive the shots as a "fitness for duty" requirement.

President Obama's State of the Union speech was yet another opportunity to demand a new laundry list of big government programs and massive spending, but MSNBC's Chris Matthews seemed to have some trouble seeing anything "liberal" in it.

As he analyzed the speech during his February 13 broadcast, Matthews told Chuck Todd that he truly couldn't see any overtly leftist. "There's nothing lefty in here. What's the left-wing part? Objectively, was there a left wing piece to this speech last night? I mean, truly left? I didn't see it," he said. Still, even in his denial a bit of truth broke through Matthews' partisanship: "I mean, basically, he was moving the ball maybe one foot to the left of the midfield."

NPR Falsely Claims GOP Invented Sequestration

Ahead of the President's State of the Union speech, taxpayer funded National Public Radio (NPR) tried to help the White House push the false notion that the sequestration budget cuts was conceived by Republicans.

The fact is, sequestration was invented by President Obama and pushed by Harry Reid and House Democrats, not Republicans. It is certainly true that the GOP agreed to the plan, but they did not "invent" sequestration. Even often left-leaning "fact checker" PolitiFact noted that Obama was the one that invented the sequestration budget conceit and rated "mostly false" any claim to the contrary.

Obama Operatives Training Media How to Sell Obamacare

The Old Media is getting a little help from team Obama on how to report about Obamacare the "correct" way.

To achieve that goal, Obama operatives are setting up propaganda symposiums for journalists and giving large cash donations to journalism associations to help spread Obama's word. This Obamacare propaganda campaign seriously blurs the line between government and "journalism" and seems to be a blatant attempt by team Obama to write the media's Obamacare stories for them.

UK Guardian: Pedophiles Need Support

The paper the Guardian has become Britain's newest champion for a minority of sorts. In a January 3 article, the UK paper has taken up the cause of pedophiles who claim they are just "ordinary members of society" that only need a little understanding.

The paper seriously presented pedophiles as but a misunderstood minority that do no real harm. As Telegraph writer Damian Thompson points out, "this is not some sick send-up" on his part. The UK Guardian is wholly serious. Guardian feature columnist Jon Henley uncritically quotes convicted pedophiles like Tom O'Carroll, who said that children enter into such "relationships" voluntarily. "If there's no bullying, no coercion, no abuse of power, if the child enters into the relationship voluntarily ... the evidence shows there need be no harm."

CNN Uses Faked Palestinian 'Casualty' Video in Coverage

In its pro-Palestinian coverage of the escalated violence in the Middle East, CNN used faked video footage showing Palestinian "victims" of Israel's rockets being dragged off the streets.

On November 15, Anderson Cooper hosted a report by CNN correspondent Sara Sidner. During the wind up to her report Cooper played a few video snippets of "victims" being dragged off the streets of the Palestinian held areas. But one of those "victims" wasn't a victim at all but was instead a man merely acting injured all for the benefit of western cameras.

Study: Large Majority of Social Media Users into Politics

A new study by the Pew Research Center finds that two thirds of social media users are also active in politics.

The study found that 66 percent of adult social media users (which is 39 percent of all U.S. adults) had promoted political or socio-political issues, and one third used their social media to post their own opinions and to share content about political matters. 35 percent used their social media to urge others to vote, and 28 percent have used tools to to post links to stories or articles on politics. Pew found that the conservative and liberal social media users were most apt to do the latter.

Media Blackout: GAO Says Obama's Welfare Waivers Illegal

On Sept. 4, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) made a startling assertion saying that Obama circumvented the law when he summarily waived the work requirements in the welfare law.

Perhaps not as shocking, few news outlets seem interested in the story. In its Sept. 4 letter, the GAO found that Health and Human Services (HHS) should have formally submitted a letter of its intent to make the changes to Congress and the Comptroller General before any waivers can be legally issued. The letter also said that the GAO had not determined if HHS had the legal right to even make such waivers available. The GAO is basically saying that the Obama administration is breaking the law with its waivers.
