We have some real problems and they are only going to get worse. We have a right to know what we are eating. People are getting allergies, this isn't normal folks. If we don't pay attention to what's happening, in our food supply, to our farmers, the plants, and ultimately our grocery store we are going to wake up one day and realize we trusted the health of our children and the health of our families to the government. And the government let us down.

Sciatic pain causes a lot of discomfort and 40% of the world's population will suffer from sciatica at some point in their lives. It occurs when the sciatic nerve is compressed by inflammation or physical damage.

It is that pain which affects your back, hip, and outer side of your leg from the buttock down to your foot. Sciatic nerve is the biggest nerve in the human body. It runs through deep in your rear and back of the thigh from both sides of your lower spinal column. It goes to the foot and therefore joins and foot muscles and your spinal cord.

Leg cramps and restless leg syndrome are conditions that generally occur during the night, and may cause unbearable pain which leads to discomfort and frustration. Especially when the person tries hard to fall asleep and get some rest.

Charley horses, or nightly leg cramps, occur commonly when an individual tries to fall asleep. They are commonly a result of dehydration, excessive exercise, vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

"Melatonin is not a sleeping pill" That's what Dr. Michael Breus, "The Sleep Doctor," tells patents who inquire about this popular supplement. Like me and many other practitioners who have researched this supplement.

This is the really important thing you should understand about melatonin: Melatonin is a sleep and body clock regulator - NOT a sleep initiator. Melatonin works with your biological clock by telling your brain when it is time to sleep. Melatonin does not increase your sleep drive or need for sleep. (Read more)

The placenta has long been thought of as a magical part of the creation of a baby. This incredible organ is uniquely designed for your baby and an integral part of any pregnancy and birth. The placenta physically connects the mother to her unborn baby.

During and after birth women lose 1/8-1/10 of their blood supply from the bleeding wound left inside the uterus, where the placenta was attached for 9 months.  As is true with most mammal species, we believe the human placenta was made to be consumed by the new mother to make up for this loss by replacing essential fats, proteins, vast amounts of iron and essential hormones to heal wounds and aid the body in self recovery after birth.

Do you pick up your child's dinner plate - sigh over the untouched veggies - and then think "oh well, at least he/she takes vitamins!"? Well then, I have good news and bad news. First - and you are going to LOVE me for this.

In other words, we should be focused on getting our kids to eat BUTTER with a side of broccoli instead of the other way around!* Not only will this increase vitamin/mineral absorption from the veggies they actually do eat, it will provide the kind of fat soluble vitamins that help develop beautiful straight teeth, strong bodies and good dispositions.

Physicians and public health officials know that recently vaccinated individuals can spread disease and that contact with the immunocompromised can be especially dangerous.

For example, the Johns Hopkins Patient Guide warns the immunocompromised to "Avoid contact with children who are recently vaccinated," and to "Tell friends and family who are sick, or have recently had a live vaccine (such as chicken pox, measles, rubella, intranasal influenza, polio or smallpox) not to visit."

Most Off-the-track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs) need some chiropractic care. Their hips are slammed from behind in the starting gate, their heads are twisted sideways by the pony horse or on the hot walker.

They are strong animals - they resist and pull muscles. Just as we humans can benefit from good chiropractic care, followed by stretching exercises to help us stay aligned, so do horses.

No one can deny the health benefits of raw, unprocessed honey. It has a wide array of medicinal properties that boost your immune system and improve your health on many different levels.

However, a recent Australian study found that one particular type of raw honey can destroy basically all harmful bacteria known to mankind, including the most dangerous ones.

We've talked about the MTHFR mutant problem before (right here) but haven't really addressed the actual taking of methylfolate. We mutants are out there, walking among you unable to convert regular old folic acid into methylfolate.

I will stand with pride among you my brothers and sisters because yes, I too am a mutant. Deep shuddering sigh. As it turns out, using gene markers alone to plan a healthy nutritional protocol is not as straightforward as it would seem. The reason being that every system in the human body has a glorious level of redundancy - we are literally designed to fail in eight hundred ways and still function normally. Simply having the MTHFR mutation doesn't actually mean that high-dose methylfolate like Deplin® which is prescribed in either 7.5 mg or 15 mg doses is a good idea.
