In search for a whole food supplement that delivers more than just hype...

Are there times when you simply feel tired, run-down and out of sorts? I have found SeaAloe to be very helpful in giving me the energy I need to care for my active family.

When I'm down with the flu and feeling ill enough to be bedridden, the only thing I want is my Mommy and a warm cup of Vernor's Ginger Ale. I know you can relate. We all have comfort items that make us feel better, when we are feeling under the weather. These days, when I get the slightest indication that I'm getting sick, I take Elderberry Syrup, homemade or organic store bought. If I'm just coughing a little, I take a teaspoon full, if I feel like I'm coming down with the flu, I take a full ounce. Most of the time, this will knock it right out of the park and I'm better the next day, if not before.

Today, I was finally well enough to be able to talk on the phone, so I made a cross-country call to my mother. We had an interesting conversation about her health and the healthcare system in general. It seems she might finally be coming around to checking out alternative medicines. It's been apparent to me for many years that her doctors aren't doing her a great deal of good.

My niece has been pushing her to try XanGo. Knowing how I feel about SeaAloe] [previously known as SeaSilver, she asked me about it. I was only able to confirm that it was made from mangosteen fruit and while I'm sure it has been processed, I was unable to find a list of ingredients or nutritional values on the XanGo website. I noted also that it's not considered a whole food supplement, as is SeaAloe.

Then I remembered someone had sent me a sample of VIBE, so I told her about that product as well. I will note that I was a little disheartened when I read on the label that the main ingredient in VIBE is "purified water," which isn't represented in the "supplement facts," as found on their website.

SeaAloe has a main ingredient of Aloe Vera, which is a known anti-oxidant and has a soothing effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Not to mention the fact that it tastes good, which is my biggest complaint with most whole food supplements -- they normally don't taste good to me.

As for XanGo their product is, like SeaAloe, considered a "whole food," although in this case it's called, "whole fruit."

A delicious dietary supplement, XanGo® Juice harnesses the nutritional power of the mangosteen through a proprietary whole fruit formula.

With only the information I've been able to dig up on these various supplements, my money is still on SeaAloe. I've still have a bottle in the fridge and still take it on occasion to give my system a boost. I don't take it every day any more because it contains sodium benzoate a known carcinogen.

These supplements work because your body is deficient in vitamins and minerals. The combination(s) help your body to absorb and utilize the nutrients. It's amazing how the human body can care for itself. I've started a group called Natural Medicine on Facebook, for exploring ways to stay health without a doctor.

Most anyone who knows me or has visited this website knows I've been an ardent supporter of Seasilver for the past several years.

I am not someone who believes I'll ever get rich quick or who would attempt to talk someone else into signing up under me in an MLM business, just so that I could make a quick buck off their backs. That is simply not me.

I signed up as a Seasilver distributor because I believed in the product and its health benefits. I've told everyone I know that since I began using Seasilver, my health has improved tremendously, I've been able to go back to work (full-time no less).

Today I'm writing to tell you the rest of the story and to ask for your assistance.

My first purchase of Seasilver was for one bottle, which to tell you the truth, I really did not notice much of a change in my health. It was only after I had stopped taking the product that I noticed I had less energy and seemed to have more aches and pains. Thinking it could have been a coincidence, I decided to give it a fair shot and I ordered three bottles.

After my experiment, I was really sold and excited. The results were remarkable. I was really starting to get my life back. I was off the pain medications, which I had been on for several years. I was able to work and do simple chores around the house that had been difficult, if not impossible for me previously.

My Own Business

I finally took a huge step and dropped $300.00 for a case of the product and my very own distributorship. I never intended to get rich, I just wanted a break on my own supply and a chance to help others who were experiencing the same problems I was.

They say timing is everything and I believe it.

I purchased my case immediately after moving across country. We were busy getting settled, finding a job, a place to live and learning a new area. When I was finally in a position to actually begin marketing Seasilver, the FDA shut them down. Seasilver claims they were only shut down for three weeks but it was at least four months that we were unable to obtain product to distribute, so I put my new business on hold again.

When I was finally able to begin marketing again, we were in another cross-country move. Anyone who has ever moved a distance of 2000 miles or more knows just how much time and planning and event like that takes.

Once we settled into our new location I decided it was time to get busy again, only to find out that my account had not only been disabled, it was totally gone. I spent two months trying to get my account reactivated. I was told that anyone with an account over a year old, with no purchases were purged.

Account Held Hostage

I was finally successfully in getting my account reactivated only to find that I was unable to access any of the marketing tools the company provides because I hadn't made a recent purchase. I was informed that it would remain disabled until I spent another $300.

Hello? I still have three bottles at home, I don't need any more product. Why would I spend another $300 to buy product I neither need nor want?

I stuck with this company despite the fact that they were under federal investigation. I endured months when I was unable to promote their product and this is how they treat their loyal subjects?

I don't think so.

This leaves me with a dilemma. I need to find a similar product that will give me the same results or better than I have experienced with Seasilver. I don't care how good their product is, if they can't treat the people promoting their business with respect and honesty, I refuse to give them another dime.

I promised, when I cancelled my account, to tell the world just how Seasilver treats their distributors and clients.

I know you've been an ardent supporter of Seasilver, and am sorry for the bad experience you've had with the distributor of that product. I will share my experience with you about something I think is working for me.

In the November 2003 Issue of Readers Digest there was an article about beating the aging process. I also had felt sluggish and out of energy. In this article the author told of how biochemist Bruce Ames believes nutrients can repair damaged cells and make them "young" again.

Ames is a professor of biochemistry at the University of California at Berkeley. He has written over 450 articles and may be the most cited scientist around.

Reading through the article, the part of the article which made me want to try what he is endorsing, was when he said he combined a dietary supplement that was sweeping Italy being marketed as a pick-me-up with an antioxidant.

He fed this combination to his old rats, the article says. "With these two supplements, these old rats got up and did the Macarena," Ames said. It was the equivalent of making an 80-year-old person look and act middle-aged according to the article.

I like doing the Macarena, so I decided to try it. Human trials are still in process. Ames and his researchers are studying whether these nutrients can also improve circulation in cardiovascular patients by relaxing blood vessels, thereby possibly reducing the risk of heart attack or stroke.

Ames cautions that he doesn't want to over hype the supplement, but my belief is that some supplements help some people. So I might as well try it. I did let my doctor know what supplements I'm taking and suggest you do too if you do begin any regiment of these OTC nutrients.

In the eight months I have been taking these supplements I have felt a noticeable difference in my energy level. Ames takes a dose of these supplement twice a day.

I am a believer that its not good for your system to take high doses to begin with, and did give my body a chance to get used to a single dose before I took it twice a day as Ames does.

There is a company, Juvenon that sells the energy formula. But I just buy the two nutrients at the health food store. 200 milligrams of Alpha Lipoic Acid and 500 milligrams of Acetyl-L-carnitine each dosage.

I have a friend who is an expert in the benefits of supplements and buy my supply from his health food store. I hope you'll try this and see if you have as good results as I seem to have gotten from taking this product.

Hello Annette,

Funny how I would find your article on Sea Silver almost exactly two years after you wrote it. My brother-in-law was with Sea Silver several years ago and unfortunately had the same type of experience that you had.

I have also been recently introduced to a product called Vibe that is a liquid vitamin. A little background on myself is that I own a Papa Murphy's Take and Bake Pizza in Woodstock, IL, since opening I work 5 to 6 days nine to nine, and I was always finding that by the time I got home I would hit the couch and crash for the night. Neither my wife nor my four-year-old cared for this. So after three or four of my mom's e-mails telling me about the product, she called me and said she would buy it for me if only I would try it.

Now, I never turn down anything that is free from my parents so I of course agreed to try it (as long as she was paying for it.) After using the Vibe for only 2-days I noticed a huge difference in terms of energy, now I use it, my wife uses it and my 4-year-old son takes their junior product.

Things I have noticed are more energy, being more alert and a really strange one is usually every month I have to go to the chiropractor and get an adjustment for neck pain (every time I fall asleep for the night on the couch) since I have been taking the Vibe, I sleep in all kinds of weird positions and when I wake up I am stiff but once I stretch - no more pain. Another strange thing is I got my grandmother taking it and she has the energy, it has relieved her of her constipation and she says she can feel her toes again.

So to make a long story short, I am a believer now. I distribute it (I just tell as many people as I can to try it and hope they do) and am kind of amazed at the way this stuff works. If you would check it out I would appreciate it. It seems like a good company and I have been seeing results in so many people I know. Take a look and tell me if I am on the right path here. I think so.

I just saw your story about SeaSilver. I recently started using a new health supplement by the name of XanGo which is made from the mangosteen fruit, mainly found in Southeast Asia. It truly is an incredible product.

I have since become a distributor for XanGo and I am having great success.

Since taking a whole-fruit mangosteen product I have been migraine free and as a side benefit, I noticed I was no longer having problems with allergies.
