"How I Wish I Could"

How i wish i could forget
though it still plagues me even yet
like a knife into my heart again
how i wish i could forget what happened then

Every second clear as day...
niether one had a thing to say.
You looked for my eyes...
i looked away.
You fumbled for words
with no more to say.
How i wish i could forget that day

Every moment after that...
i knew you wouldnt be coming back.
I looked for you sometimes...
you didnt turn back.
Lost in my memories...
forever after that.
How i wish i could forget all that

So many years passed me by...
you left here and i still try.
I still look out now and then...
but no one goes by.
Wonder what could have been...
if you'd caught my eye.
How i wish i could forget that night
