In the dark in a room in the back of my mind
is a sketch of my life and the things i could find
if i look at the world in a different light
but then i might be offered my second sight
it can be a blessing no more than a curse
to see you're own future, what could be worse
the colors now clearing
the lines are improving
the sketch before my eyes
i cannot close my eyes
An emerald band alone in the sand
on the beach in a desert isle
an inchtall man with a stone in his hand
in the tide all the while
a ship on the sea looking at me
look at the stone the size my thumb
what can they see looking at me
me the man less the size your thumb
the minor role into a hole
and the emerald band now a lamp
a gentle lull as the tide takes its toll
and the man feels a little cramp
drifting away day after day
or a year before it hits ground
and here it will stay a day and a day
until it would be found
a fool on the beach would selfishly breech
the seal that housed the man
the appeared a beast with heavenly reach
and still a stone in his hand
words are spoken
but it's no longer clear
the sketch fades before my eyes
i can't open my eyes
