Some dreams I have are laced with sorrow
And others laced with pain
Some dreams cover me with my fancy
For blood or falling rain
Sometimes tho I dream a fantasy
Of the way I wish things were
Myself inside the soft embrace
Of my velveteen wonder
When I was a child I had a teddy
A rabbit silken soft
It gave me all that intimacy
That I would hold aloft
And then it was for comfort
Whenever orange came
And now it is my lust-friend
Things are not the same
My rabbit now in storage
My woman in the room
And here I stand astride her
Her beauty like the moon
And evermore inconsistent
Tho beauty she doth have
Her silken velvet wonder
Is all that I now crave
