"Water in a Vase"

sometimes stale and dormant
quiet if you please
the inner pool is silent
with remarkable inner peace
the outside vase is classy
and handsome to the eye
but there within its quiet
nothing lived there nor did die
but death would be more placid
than silent as it was
for nothing had ever been there
except water in the vase
