"If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter."
                                             -- George Washington

"If we stuck to the Constitution as written, we would have: no federal meddling in our schools; no Federal Reserve; no U.S. membership in the UN; no gun control; and no foreign aid.

We would have no welfare for big corporations, or the "poor"; no American troops in 100 foreign countries; no NAFTA, GATT, or "fast-track"; no arrogant federal judges usurping states rights; no attacks on private property; no income tax. We could get rid of most of the cabinet departments, most of the agencies, and most of the budget."

Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom by Dr. Ron Paul

"Freedom is not defined by safety. Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place. Only a totalitarian society would even claim absolute safety as a worthy ideal, because it would require total state control over its citizens' lives. Liberty has meaning only if we still believe in it when terrible things happen and a false government security blanket beckons."
                                             -- Congressman Ron Paul

"The government is best which governs least."

The system of population control that was instituted in 1945 as a substitute to war and the obverse side of nuclear deterrence was from the very beginning the cooperative effort of the Allied Powers: the U.S., the Soviet Union/Russia, and the U.K.

The Chernobyl accident just like Fukushima were no accidents but intentional state-sponsored sabotage to lower life expectancy and the dependency burden of the old by increasing morbidity and mortality. The Chernobyl disaster took place in 1986 when the life expectancy of the Russian people first reached 70. After the disaster, life expectancy steadily decreased from 70 to 64 by 1994. It has since recovered and has been stabilized at 70 since 2011. It will be interesting to see if Japan's life expectancy will also decrease in the aftermath of the Fukushima disaster and if a similar man-made disaster is planned for Europe.

Well, it sure didn't take long for the authorities to find yet another way to use technology-specifically "the Internet of things"-to violate our constitutional right to privacy.

As reported by EnGadget, police in Arkansas want to know if one of Amazon's Echo devices, which are constantly connected to the Internet and listening for the sound of voice commands and questions, might have overheard something that can help them solve a murder case. Only, they will have to get a court-or Amazon, voluntarily-to allow them access to loads of information in addition to whatever the device might have "overheard" and, thus, stored.

I've worked for a telemarketing company for two years and made a lot of unwanted calls. I have to keep making them because most people don't know how to get rid of us, but the right approach can make all the difference.

If the caller does speak to you, they will do their best to sell to you on the first call. A good telemarketer uses the "Three Nos" rule: don't let the customer go until they have said "no" three times during the phone call. This technique has actually worked for me several times. After the first two no, the client often runs out of reasons and becomes more persuadable. Telemarketers try to keep you on the phone as long as possible because they can eventually wear you down and get money out of you.

In the name of saving the environment, thousands of green activists fighting to stop the Dakota Access pipeline are making a huge mess.

Those familiar with the camps near Cannon Ball, North Dakota, increasingly are distressed over the pits of human waste and garbage pockmarking the formerly pristine prairie revered by the Standing Rock Sioux as sacred ancestral land.

Known as the Trans-Pecos pipeline, the relatively short 143-mile project would carry natural gas from western Texas' Permian Basin - likened to "America's Saudi Arabia" as the country's "Most Important Oil and Gas Resource" by Forbes.

"They figure they can just show up and condemn your land," landowner Tom Beard told the Tribune. Beard and his wife and former Brewster County judge, Val, noted they'd never had concerns about the state's pervasive oil and gas industry - until they caught a surveyor for ETP trespassing unannounced and unwelcome on their land in March.

The mainstream media, at the behest of the misguided medical establishment, villainizes salt. Society is constantly told that salt can raise the blood pressure, cause cardiac failure, damage the kidneys, aggravate asthma, and cause kidney stones.

Unrefined and unadulterated sea salt is not harmful in moderate amounts. Its benefits over table salt contrasts the immense differences between God's engineering and man's. The human body requires a certain amount of sodium for optimum health, and we could not live without it. Healthy sea salts selectively make a body a hostile environment for pathogens, such as bacteria and parasites. Its specific toxicity to pathogenic life forms is why salt is such an excellent preservative, while leaving the healthy foods completely intact. Even mainstream medical doctors will admit these things when probed, but their institutionalized attacks upon salt continue unabated.

A board of lawmakers has given final approval for $150 million in funding to help pull the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services out of its crisis mode - but there are strings attached.

In a letter dated Thursday, the Legislative Budget Board has given the agency the go-ahead to hire 829 new caseworkers and give $12,000 raises to existing ones. The funding includes $142.4 million in state dollars and $7.6 million in federal money.

After recently withdrawing her son from public school because of safety and education concerns, a New York City mom went through all the required procedures to homeschool her son, but soon found Child Protective Services (CPS) coming after her.

Before CPS showed up at her door and prior to seeking legal advice, the concerned mother received counsel and support from her pastor and his wife - both of whom had homeschooled their own children for years.

This article describes Sonoma County's recent approval of Measure M, banning genetically modified crops from being grown in the County.

Sonoma County voters who helped pass Measure M have made history for the county. Measure M bans genetically modified crops and seeds from being grown in the unincorporated parts of Sonoma County. With the pass of this measure, they are now one of only 6 counties in California to ban genetically modified crops and seeds. This ban comes as no surprise to the county of Sonoma, as it is increasingly aware and ahead of health concerns, our environmental impact, and sustainable living practices.
