In some respects, the recent admission by CIA Director John Brennan that his agents and his lawyers have been spying on the senators whose job it is to monitor the agency should come as no surprise.

The agency's job is to steal and keep secrets, and implicit in those tasks, Brennan would no doubt argue, is lying. Yet in another respect, this may very well be a smoking gun in the now substantial case against President Barack Obama that alleges that much of his official behavior has manifested lawlessness and incompetence. It is hard to believe that the president did not know about this but not hard to believe he would look the other way.

The United States government has concluded that a new leaker has been supplying members of the media with classified documents, CNN reported on Tuesday.

Earlier that day, The Intercept published a new article based off of disclosures provided to them by an unnamed source pertaining to the US government's use of watchlists to monitor known and suspected terrorists. Previously, The Intercept has worked closely with top-secret National Security Agency documents admittedly provided to journalists by Edward Snowden, a former contractor for the NSA. Tuesday's leak, however, is of a document dated August 2013 - weeks after Snowden chose to identify himself as the source of the NSA leak and had already arrived in Moscow where he later received asylum and remains today.

A journalist recently exposed Obama's hypocrisy to his face during a press conference for criticizing Bush over power grabs.

It's no secret that President Obama has made unprecedented power grabs to draw more legislative power into the executive branch, the likes of which have never been seen thus far in American history. The president has abused executive orders to bypass Congress and create laws favoring his agenda, and is attempting to do so once again with amnesty. What makes this situation slightly comical is that when Obama was running for president, he slammed George W. Bush for attempting to bring more power into the executive branch instead of going through Congress, stating he planned on reversing that trend.

Here's a massive political social media meltdown plan to avoid.

Over the weekend you could have blinked and missed how a Democratic political operative severely damaged her career by sending a series of racially charged tweets. Kathy Groob called herself an "activist for women's rights and equality," but that didn't prevent her from launching an attack on Mitch McConnell's wife that centered on her being "Asian" and "not from Kentucky." She probably didn't expect the furor from the messages she posted as evidenced by the time it took her to delete them and apologize.

Target says costs related to its data breach are increasing as sales in the U.S. and Canada lag.

"Since the data breach last December, we have been focused on providing clarity on the Company's estimated financial exposure to breach-related claims," said John Mulligan, interim president and CEO, CFO of Target. "With the benefit of additional information, we believe that today is an appropriate time to provide greater clarity on this topic." And in addition to increasing costs stemming from this data breach, Target also cut its second quarter earnings outlook.

Former Rep. Ron Paul is has relaunched his petition at Voices of Liberty urging clemency for NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Paul writes: Mr. Snowden made headlines in late spring 2013 when he revealed in a videotaped interview with investigative journalists Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras that our federal government has been operating a massive spying program. The revelations have and continue to open our minds to the truth and power of our government. We are being watched and recorded. And we don't have to do anything wrong; individuals can be falsely attacked to derive suspicion...

This isn't a coincidence.

Comcast is increasing its broadband internet speeds in areas where Google Fiber is set up, reports The Consumerist. Kansas City is the latest metropolis to see enhanced internet speeds at no additional cost to customers. Those paying for 25 megabit service will get 50 megabits, those paying for 50 megabits will get 105, and those paying for 105 will get a whopping 150 megabits, enough for all but the most voracious video streamers.

The House on Wednesday approved a highly contentious lawsuit against President Obama over his alleged abuse of executive power, teeing up an election-year legal battle sure to spill onto the midterm campaign trail.

The House backed the lawsuit resolution on a vote of 225-201, with all Democrats opposed. Republicans say the lawsuit is necessary to keep the president in constitutional check, after he allegedly exceeded his authority with unilateral changes to the Affordable Care Act. Democrats branded the effort a political charade aimed at stirring up GOP voters for this fall's congressional elections. They also said it's an effort by top Republicans to mollify conservatives who want Obama to be impeached -- something House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said he has no plans to do.
