Outlook Express is perhaps the very most popular email client in the world. More than a hundred million people use it world-wide. But it's not without it's frustrations, especially for the vast majority of people that don't feel comfortable playing with settings and options.
The most common issue faced by Outlook Express users is that caused by an accidental click on the "x" beside the Contacts Pane. This closes the Contact Pane and makes it more difficult for users to send email to those in their contacts.
In Outlook Express, it is common for an accidental click to make the Contacts Pane disappear. There is no easy way to make it stay, so you'll have to dig into the program options. Fortunately, this is straight-forward.
Within Outlook Express, click the View menu, then click Layout...
Within the Window Layout Properties window, check the box for "Contacts" then click OK.
See, I told you it was straight-forward. ;)
