People come from all around the Chicago area to get one of Keyia's famous massages in the park. Families gather, children play, food is cooked and cops.....well the cops obviously 'protect and serve.'

After all, how would people function in Police State USA without the gentle coaxing of the iron fist at family bar-b-ques? Keyia is seen explaining to one of the cops that the community is entirely capable of policing their own and do not need such a heavy police presence. Everyone was happy at this party in Garfield park and perhaps that is why the police began to 'disperse the crowd.' The keepers of the peace began forcing people to vacate the premises, for their own safety, of course.

Putin asks government to develop countermeasures to Western sanctions

Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged his government to come up with countermeasures to Western sanctions imposed against Russia over the Ukrainian conflict.

Putin stressed that Moscow's response should be "cautious." "Obviously we need to do it cautiously in order to support domestic manufacturers, but not hurt consumers," he said on Tuesday. The president expects the government to present a response to the sanctions as soon as possible. Putin said that the political tools of pressure being used against the Russian economy are unacceptable, stressing that they go against international rules and norms.

US officials: New leaker compromised national security documents after Snowden

The United States government has concluded that a new leaker has been supplying members of the media with classified documents, CNN reported on Tuesday.

Earlier that day, The Intercept published a new article based off of disclosures provided to them by an unnamed source pertaining to the US government's use of watchlists to monitor known and suspected terrorists. Previously, The Intercept has worked closely with top-secret National Security Agency documents admittedly provided to journalists by Edward Snowden, a former contractor for the NSA. Tuesday's leak, however, is of a document dated August 2013 - weeks after Snowden chose to identify himself as the source of the NSA leak and had already arrived in Moscow where he later received asylum and remains today.

$619 billion missed from federal transparency site

A government website intended to make federal spending more transparent was missing at least $619 billion from 302 federal programs, a government audit has found.

And the data that does exist is wildly inaccurate, according to the Government Accountability Office, which looked at 2012 spending data. Only 2% to 7% of spending data on USASpending.gov is "fully consistent with agencies' records," according to the report. Among the data missing from the 6-year-old federal website...

A New Jersey police officer who caused outrage after being caught on video claiming he didn't have to follow the Constitution because Obama had "decimated" the bill of rights has resigned.

As we reported yesterday in a story that was linked on the Drudge Report before going viral, Helmetta Police Officer Richard Recine responded to resident Steve Wronko's complaint about corruption at a local animal shelter and violations of his first and fourth amendment rights by remarking, "Obama just decimated the freakin' Constitution, so I don't give a damn. If he doesn't follow the Constitution, we don't have to." The outburst prompted a huge backlash, with the video receiving over 220,000 views and hundreds of irate comments. Despite initially being the subject of an internal affairs investigation, Recine offered his resignation on Thursday morning, likely as a result of the heated online response.

Russia is introducing a full 12 months embargo on the import of beef, pork, fruits and vegetables, poultry, fish, cheese, milk and dairy products from the European Union, the United States, Australia, Canada and the Kingdom of Norway.

Russia is also introducing an airspace ban against European and US airlines that fly over our airspace to Eastern Asia, namely, the Asia-Pacific Region and is considering changing the so-called Russian airspace entry and exit points for European scheduled and charter flights. Furthermore, Russia is ready to revise the rules of using the trans-Siberian routes, and will also discontinue talks with the US air authorities on the use of the trans-Siberian routes. Finally, starting this winter, we may revoke the additional rights issued by the Russian air authorities beyond the previous agreements. This is such an interesting and major development that it requires a much more subtle analysis than just the crude calculation of how much this might cost the EU or US. I will attempt no such calculation, but instead I would point out the following elements...
