What message are our legislators sending to voters, when they publicly admit they haven't done their job? How many bills are passed each year that policymakers haven't even bothered to read? This is disgraceful. This is called dereliction of duties and we must demand a stop to this practice.

Scientists in developing nations plan to step up research into dimming sunshine to curb climate change, hoping to judge if a man made chemical sunshade would be less risky than a harmful rise in global temperatures.

Solar geo-engineering studies would be helped by a new $400,000 fund from the Open Philanthropy Project, a foundation backed by Dustin Moskovitz, a co-founder of Facebook, and his wife, Cari Tuna, they wrote. "The fund could help scientists in developing nations study regional impacts of solar geo-engineering such as on droughts, floods or monsoons," said Andy Parker, a co-author and project director of the Solar Radiation Management Governance Initiative.

Researchers call for greater caution, but skeptics say the evidence from rat studies is not convincing

Does cell phone radiation cause cancer? New studies show a correlation in lab rats, but the evidence may not resolve ongoing debates over causality or whether any effects arise in people. The ionizing radiation given off by sources such as x-ray machines and the sun boosts cancer risk by shredding molecules in the body. But the non-ionizing radio-frequency (RF) radiation that cell phones and other wireless devices emit has just one known biological effect: an ability to heat tissue by exciting its molecules.

Its supporters say competitive shooting helps develop students' discipline and sportsmanship. But the sport is under increased scrutiny in the gun debate era

Sobel, Menjik and the rest of the Central Square team had driven over 200 miles through the howling winds of a nor'easter to participate in the New York Public High School Athletic Association Air Rifle Championship. Held on the campus of the US Military Academy at West Point this past Saturday, 71 shooters from across the state had gathered in a quest to be crowned New York's best. Outside, whitecaps churned across the Hudson River and snow drifts swirled in small cyclones, but inside West Point's air-rifle range the vibe was warm and familial. Parents opened coolers filled with sandwiches and soft drinks, coaches met to discuss safety and strategy, and students conquered their jitters with cell phone games. If not for the quiet, repetitive pop of the rifles, it could have been any other youth sporting event.

LANSING -- Victims of imprisoned former sports doctor Larry Nassar helped unveil what they described Monday as a sweeping rewrite of Michigan laws related to childhood sexual abuse, saying the changes would ease the ability to stop abuse...

The legislation is expected to win quick approval Tuesday from a Senate committee. The full Senate could vote as early as next week before the bills go to the House. Denhollandar called on lawmakers to pass the measures before their summer break.

In the latest gross violation of free speech committed by radical left-wing tech giants, YouTube has now deleted the entire Health Ranger video channel, wiping out over 1,700 videos covering everything from nutrition, natural medicine, history...

Over the last two weeks, YouTube has been on a censorship rampage that's apparently run by the SPLC , a radical left-wing hate group that despises Christianity, the Second Amendment and patriots in particular. Hundreds of prominent conservative video channels have been targeted for termination by YouTube, leading many independent media leaders like myself to call for government regulation of YouTube to protect free speech and end the tyranny.

For the last week or so, the entire nation has been talking about gun control -- or at least the media has been talking about it.

The scandal that the media is ignoring, but is probably the most important part of this story, involves the Broward County School District and local police agencies colluding to lay the foundation of the Douglas High School tragedy. What do I mean? The story all began about 6 years ago in Miami-Dade County (the county just South of Broward), where the school district was struggling to succeed.

Facebook Inc. failed again to get out of a lawsuit alleging its photo scanning technology flouts users' privacy rights.

U.S. District Judge James Donato's decision to let the class-action case proceed means that Facebook is still potentially on the hook for fines under a unique Illinois law of $1,000 to $5,000 each time a person's image is used without permission. A court victory for consumers could lead to new restrictions on Facebook's use of biometrics in the U.S., similar to those in Europe and Canada.

As California lawmakers continue their track-record of controversial decisions, one announcement in particular has caused an outcry for its overreaching presumption: that all homeschoolers must also be child abusers.

According to The Washington Examiner, the plan set out by lawmakers would be to force parents into proving to the government that they are, in fact, fit to be a parent. The homeschooling parent - per legal requirement - would have to meet the government's required checklist via home visits, interviews, and other oversights, effectively increasing the burden on the parent to prove themselves parentally fit.

KEY WEST, Fla. - The crowd at the Monroe County town hall meeting was not intimidated by the panel of experts arrayed on the stage before them.

It was clear almost immediately that Nimmo and his colleagues were not salesmen, based on a review of a video of the two-and-a-half hour meeting. When Nimmo said it would be premature to say with certainty that the modified-mosquitoes would stop disease, the statement was met with laughter.

They had been built fast, and not to last. The fact that some people were still living in them because they had never gotten enough money to rebuild their homes, or had run afoul of unethical contractors.

But in the oil fields of Alexander, where Shapiro found them, people had, at best, only a dim memory of hearing something bad about the trailers on the late night news. Only one person in the improvised trailer park near the Tumbleweed Inn knew where the trailers were from. Now 19, he'd lived in one as a child, after his family's home was destroyed when the levees around New Orleans broke in 2005. "It feels like home," he said, looking around the park. "Not the landscape. The trailers. I'm used to it."
